Abstract:The digital landscape is an innovative convergence of digital technology and landscape architecture, representing a novel paradigm within the field. It has brought forth unprecedented possibilities for the realm of landscape architecture. Urban and rural digital landscape planning and ecological restoration, as important contents of landscape architecture education in the new era, are inevitable requirements for implementing new development concepts, fostering high-quality development, and nurturing ecological civilization. The ongoing process of urbanization presents challenges for urban and rural landscape planning and ecological environment. How to harmonize urban and rural development, protect the ecological environment, and improve the quality of human habitat has become the essential core of urban and rural landscape planning and ecological restoration. However, a noticeable and critical deficit exists within the domain of urban and rural digital landscape and ecological restoration in terms of available talent. Constructing a talent training model that meets the needs of the new era is of great significance for promoting urban and rural sustainable development, and it is also an urgent issue to be addressed in the teaching of urban and rural digital landscape planning and ecological restoration. Such talent training needs to fully consider the cross-integration of multiple levels, scales, and the entire process of urban and rural areas, so as to adapt to complex and changing urban-rural ecological environment issues. To cultivate interdisciplinary talents who can meet the diversified and personalized needs, it is urgent to explore new teaching models. Based on this, an unstructured teaching concept and method adapting to the development trend of digital landscapes is proposed.
