Abstract:The new era has put forward new requirements for postgraduate ideological and political education, promoting new exploration and development of ideological and political education concepts in universities. Based on the educational practice of ideological and political education through disciplines of civil engineering postgraduates, the paper emphasizes the importance of integrating ideological and political elements into professional teaching, practical activities, and evaluation systems. Constructing a linkage mechanism between disciplinary development and ideological and political education effectively promotes postgraduates to internalize the concepts of ideological and political education and make it become the students’ independent thinking and conscious action. Current civil engineering postgraduate ideological education in China has problems such as insufficient cultivation breadth, depth, and dimensions. It proposes to deepen the ideological and political education through disciplines by strengthening team construction, optimizing the nurturing process, and improving the evaluation mechanism to promote the all-round development of students in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and other aspects. It provides new perspectives for postgraduate education in civil engineering and referable experiences for ideological and political education in other disciplines.
