Abstract:Road survey and design is a highly comprehensive and practical course. Traditional teaching fails to consider the characteristics of international students in China, and it is difficult to achieve desirable teaching effects in postgraduate teaching. Firstly, this paper analyzes the current teaching situation of road survey and design course for international students, and sorts out problems existing in the teaching of this course, namely, difficulty in communication between teachers and students, weak academic foundations and large disparities among international students, insufficient suitable textbooks, great difference in teaching modes and learning habits, too much course content but too few teaching hours, difficulty in understanding the teaching content and imperfect evaluation system. Secondly, on the basis of analyzing the above problems, the goal of teaching reform is clarified, and the online and offline mixed teaching mode is reformed and practiced from four aspects: teaching content and design of ideological and political elements, teaching resources, teaching organization and teaching evaluation. Finally, combined with the teaching statistics and questionnaire survey results over the past three years, the practical effect of curriculum reform is analyzed and evaluated. The results show that students hold high recognition towards the online and offline mixed teaching reform, and the gains are generally great; on-line teaching makes up for the lack of class hours to some extent; since the implementation of online and offline mixed teaching, the average scores of students’ test papers and teachers’ evaluation scores have been significantly improved. Through the teaching reform and practice, students’ learning enthusiasm has been fully mobilized, classroom discipline and interaction have also been improved, and the teaching effect has been improved obviously. Relevant results can provide reference for the teaching and reform of other courses.
