Abstract:Aim to cultivate students' ability and interest in structural innovation, the reduction effective of seismic response of nuclear power plants (NPPs) by base isolation and shock absorption technology is shown. Taking AP1000 NPPs shield building as an example, the seismic performance of NPPs with four different design configurations (i.e., without BIS, BIS, BIS-TMD, and TMD) is simulated by comparative study method. And the improvement of seismic safety level of NPPs by base isolation and shock absorption technology is tested. This study has reference value for teaching structural seismic design.
