Designing and carrying out scientific popularization work according to the principle of “demand first” can effectively improve the efficiency and satisfaction of scientific popularization work. As the reality changes, the demand for scientific popularization of the public in the Southwest has also changed. Investigating and analysing the scientific popularization needs of the people in the southwest region, summarizing the characteristics of the demand, and proposing relevant suggestions. These measures can serve as a reference for the development of science popularization in Southwest China and even in China.
