Abstract:By analyzing the characteristics of teaching content of the steel structure connection in the current Standard for design of steel structures (GB 50017—2017), and based on the effect-centered teaching idea, a teaching method named “concept-based analysis” was proposed. Concept analysis and its application were performed on weld connection in steel structures, and also with comparative study on bearing capacity formula for bolt connection in steel structures on the basis of concept-based analysis. Teaching practice shown that, based on the “concept-based analysis” teaching method, the essential logic contained in the steel connection was revealed, by which the application of design formulas for steel connection was grasped conveniently by students, and better understanding on the relevant provisions in the specification, was further promoted.
