In recent years, due to the economic downturn, the unprosperous real estate and construction industries, some college students, especially those majoring in engineering management, have doubts about their future employment prospects. In order to provide directional guidance for the employment of engineering management majors in colleges, this paper takes the graduates of Engineering Management major from Chongqing Technology and Business University from 2003 to 2020 and some engineering management employers in Sichuan and Chongqing as the investigation objects, and conducts in-depth investigation and understanding of the employment situation and the current demand for talent of enterprises in engineering management in Chongqing and Sichuan. This paper uses the SPS software tool to analyze the investigation results. The conclusions of this investigation can provide some employment guidance suggestions for engineering management majors in colleges, help guide students to strengthen their professional abilities related to employment, enhance the core competitiveness of engineering management majors, and also benefit enterprises in real estate and construction industries by adjusting their personnel needs, strengthening deep cooperation between schools and enterprises, and promoting commercial and industrial integration. It also provides more employment opportunities for graduates and achieves mutual benefit between colleges and enterprises.
