Abstract:The new era has put forward new requirements for postgraduate ideological and political education, promoting new exploration and development of ideological and political education concepts in universities. Based on the educational practice of “ideological and political education through disciplines” of civil engineering postgraduates, it emphasizes the importance of integrating ideological and political elements into professional teaching, practical activities, and evaluation systems. Constructing a linkage mechanism between disciplinary development and ideological and political education effectively promotes postgraduates to internalize the concepts of ideological and political education concepts and make it become the students" independent thinking and conscious action. Based on the current civil engineering postgraduate ideological education in China, there are problems such as insufficient cultivation breadth, depth, and dimension. It proposed to deepen the “ideological and political education through disciplines” of civil engineering postgraduates by strengthening team construction, optimizing the nurturing process, and improving the evaluation mechanism to promote the overall development of students’ morality, intellectuality, physicality, aesthetics, and other aspects. It provides new perspectives and methods for postgraduate education in civil engineering and referable experiences and insights for ideological and political education in other disciplines.
