Abstract:This paper focuses on the practical application of AI in the teaching of "Civil Engineering Construction" within the civil engineering discipline. Students were required to use the "AI + literature query" model to complete assignments as part of the course, with the aim of fostering and guiding students in the effective use of AI for professional learning and problem research. Through five progressive assignments, classroom guidance, and the collection of student feedback at the beginning and end of the term, it was found that the "AI + literature query" model enhanced students' learning efficiency, strengthened their conceptual understanding, and altered their learning methods and habits. However, this model displayed a dual impact on the development of students' critical thinking, potentially exacerbating educational disparities. Furthermore, in the in-depth study of the "Civil Engineering Construction" field, AI demonstrated limitations in providing data support and theoretical logic. These shortcomings necessitate the supplementary use of professional literature retrieval, verification, and meticulous teacher guidance.
