In order to improve the development of the postgraduate education of transportation planning and management major and make the postgraduates cultivated meet the social needs, this paper analyzes the knowledge structure, ability, qualities and employment issues of the postgraduates based on the survey of employers’ requirements. The results indicate that the employers attach the importance to the basic of knowledge structure, the depth and universality of professional knowledge. The society needs the postgraduates who take on the ability of learner-autonomy, practicality and innovation, and the high qualities of occupation ethies, honest and keeping words, team spirit，respect-work spirit。The results provide the reference for the postgraduates cultivating of transportation planning and management major and learning of postgraduates.
