Rapid urban developments need engineers for structure design and construction, but trational teaching modes can not meet the requirement. Based on the analysis of characteristic of civil engineering and the problems that exsited in trational teaching modes, the reform efforts were carried out. In which the teaching objective, teaching contents and teaching methods were taken into consideration. Lastly the reform effects were evaluated.
