Abstract:Since the reform and open policy, the growth of market economy has brought vitality to universities development, however, given new challenges to the security work. Security work takes an important role in maintaining healthy, sustaining and harmony development of universities, so the paper analyzed the reason why the security work in university was marginalization. With analysis of the experiences of university security work in USA and Canada, proposed some countermeasures to change the university security work, such as making position explicit, enhancing staff qualities, cultivating service conscious, and developing innovative ability, etc.
