As urban construction and city culture getting further developed, the old style public buildings with literal monumental form cannot satisfy people’s new demand for city’s public life. We started with public buildings’ “public” property and “common” connotation as a breakthrough point, analyzed the breakthrough skill and idea used in the public space design of Taiwan Lodong cultural working house, explored the deeper cultural and social connotation hidden under form surface, and then provided a new idea to promote the quality of contemporary urban public cultural buildings accordingly.
