The sustainable development of higher education relates directly to the whole society development. It also relates to the great rejuvenation of the country and nationality. It is a strategic issue for the society and economic sustainable development in China. Based on the predecessor's research, this paper summarized the definition, influence factors, deficiencies and countermeasures of sustainable development of higher education in China. It also discussed from the perspectives of research methods, research ideas, and research background, in order to make contribution to the research of sustainable development of higher education in China.
