Abstract:To cultivate students' ability and interest in structural innovation of the reduction effective of seismic response of nuclear power plants (NPPs) by base isolation and shock absorption technology is shown. Considering AP1000 NPPs shield building as an example, the seismic performance of NPPs with the different design configurations of non base isolation, BIS, BIS-TMD and TMD is simulated by comparative teaching method. And the improvement of seismic safety level of NPPs by base isolation and shock absorption technology is tested. This study has reference value for teaching structural seismic design.
