Abstract:The development of tourism higher education is the key factor of promoting the development of tourism industry in China Based on the indepth analysis of the development course and characteristics of tourism higher education of China, the problems and deficiencies in tourism higher education of China are found out, especially in the training target, subject status, curriculum, teaching methods, faculty structure, textbook construction and so on Finally, applied the basic theory of strategic management, combined the status quo and characteristics of the tourism industry and tourism higher education, and drawn upon successful experiences of foreign countries in tourism higher education, some counter measures for these problems are put forwards
