The paper reviews the background of development of biotechnology and bio-industry. The significance of developing biotechnological industry in China is reported. The significant roles played by the biotechnological industry refers to such as agriculture, medical treatment, environmental protection etc for domestic economic and social development are introduced. Meanwhile, the paper analyzes the bottlenecks of biotechnology (BT) industry’s development and put forward some feasible measures for the new economic increase.
