Abstract:Numerical study is performed to analyse the influence of aspect ratio on the nat-ural convection of high Pr fluid in a cavity with five discrete heaters at the bottom and an isothermalheat snk at the top,The range of aspect ratio is from 0.082 to 0.333, Raw is 107 and Pr is 90.Inthe half of the eavity five independent flow cells seperated by zero stream lines can be observed atsmall aspect ratio,which gradually merge into a single flow when aspect ratio increases and finallybeeome a big cell at A = 0.333.The average nusselt number based on the cooling arca,Nuc,showsthe highest value at A=0.082.With the incrcase of A,Nuc decreases and arrives the lowest valuewhile A=0.138,then increases and reaches an extreme value as A=0.164.After that Nuc fluctu-ates with the variation of increasing rate of flow velocity.

Abstract:A new method was presented for power load forecasting.Based on the fuzzyclustering technique,the historical samples of power load and its relative environmental factors wereclassified into several typical categories,the fuzzy numbers and sets were then used to describe thepatterns of load variation and the features of the environmental factors for every class. Finally,byunderstanding the state of future environmental factors, the future power load can be predictedthrough determining the category of load variation pottern. The validity of the proposed method wasverified with a practical medium-term load forecasting.

Abstract:In this paper,the stability problems of coal and rock mass exerted by horizontaland vertical forces are studied with the help of the method of catastrophic theory. The expression ofthe total potential energy function for this system is derived. This system can be described by thecusp catastrophe model. The bifurcation set which makes this system to loss its stability in the hori-zontal and vertical force control space is obtained. At the same time ,the process of Sudden statechange of coal and rock due to the changes of horizontal and vertical forces is discussed.

Abstract:Heat transfer in the tube-mouth region of high temporature heat exchangeequipment was further analysed. The finite difference method(FDM)was employed for investigat-ing emphatically the effects of contact thermal resistance on heat transfer.Temperature distributionin the tube-mouth region with the different contact thermal resistance was found.The computation-al results were compared with that which were obtained with no contact thermal resistance,and thecorresponding heat transfer mechanism was fully analysed.

Abstract:In view of the process characteristics of thin slab casting with a vertical-arcmould and super thin submerged nozzles, the fluid flow laws in a mould and in scarch of reasonablesu bmerged nozzle patterns have been physieally simulated. Abstract:采用刺激-响应法技术,对多流水方坯连铸中间罐内液体的混合与流动状态以及夹杂物排除规律进行了研究,测定了停留时间,分布函数和曲线以及温度分布。实验结果表明:对3流以上的多流连铸中间罐,选用梯形结构,其内设置适当的流股控制系统后,流体的混合与流动得到改善,各水口区流股特性趋于一致,中间罐内注流温度分布均匀,平均停留时间增长,夹杂上浮率大于99.98%。

Abstract:In this paper according to different cooling feafures in the secondary coolingzone,a two-dimensional mathematic model of heat transfer is developed,which is suitable for the op-eration of the casfer in Chongqin g Special Steel Plant,In the model, a finite difference method isadopted and different boundary conditions a different time-step is firstly used.Thus the model isof high precision with a shorter calculation time.The optimum secondary cooling system of the con-tinuous billet can be gained by aimulating and optimizing calculations using the model.

Abstract:In the study on finding a group of inital values for solving operator equation x=G(x)by the two-sided iterative method,some stronger conditions forG(x)have been demandedand some new parameters have to be introduced since 1978,But,as it will be proved in this paper,Itis unnecessary to use any new parameters and other stronger conditions to get a group of initial val-ues of two-sided iterative, as those initial values can be obtained by means of an auxiliary iterativebeginning with operator G(x)itself. The numerical example in this paper illustraves that the methodproposed in this paper is a general method.

Abstract:The ex plosio n process a n d paramete rs in the blast of large iron a nd steel wastesare analysed by using the theory of fracture mechanice.A three-dimensional model is established us-ing pressurised cylinder with multiple semi-elliptical surface cracks.Reasons are given for the expla-nation that the dynamic fracture toughness for iron and steel is generally lower than the correspond-ing static value during the blast.The importance is emphasized of the critical duration time of the dy-namic stress intensity factor for crack extension.
