  • 1  Heat dissipation optimization of DC-DC and IPU for hybrid electric vehicle

    Abstract:
    Due to the bad heat dissipation of the existing heat dissipation structure of DC-DC and IPU for hybrid electric vehicle(HEV), the temperature of DC-DC and IPU will rise during the running process, which in turn decreases the stability and reliability of the hybrid electric system. Aiming at this problem, a three-dimensional, transient heat dissipation model is built for DC-DC and IPU heat dissipation structure based on the mass, momentum and energy conservation equations. By using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, flow field and temperature field of DC-DC and IPU heat dissipation structure are numerically simulated. Based on the simulation, and combined with heat transfer theory, an improvement scheme of heat dissipation structure is proposed. The simulation results and experiment results of thermal performance and temperature rise show that the improvement scheme can improve the thermal performance, and decrease the temperature rise of DC-DC and IPU effectively, thus satisfy the application requirements in HEV.

    Abstract:
    Aiming at the exhaust muffler of a 244S motorcar, the acoustics field model and the flow field model are established by adopting Finite Element Method. The 3-D acoustic simulation is carried out by using software SYSNOISE, and an improvement scheme with optimized inner structure of the muffler is proposed based on the simulation. The acoustic simulation result and the bench test result of the improved muffler show that the muffling ability in middle and high-frequency of the improved structure is obviously stronger than the original structure, and the simulation result coincides well with the bench test result. Meanwhile, the flow field simulation result shows the power loss of the engine has little change, which means that the structure improvement of the original muffler is effective.
    3  Exact solid-modeling of planar enveloping hourglass worm gears

    Abstract:
    Based on the gear engagement theory, the mathematical model of the planar enveloping hourglass worm gears was established. By combination with engineering practice, the geometrical features of worm and gear are analyzed. Taking the secondary contact zone of worm gears in typical design as an example, reconfiguration methods of curved surface composed of unequally distribute data points are researched. Result shows that the required precision of the space surface can be achieved and the surface can be built easily through programming, when principal curves are planer curve and the cross ones are Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines(NURBS) curve. On UG-GRIP platform, three-dimensional model building system of planar enveloping hourglass worm drives is developed. The accuracy of the solid model is validated by example, that the max error of the data points is 4.7 μm

    Abstract:
    Community-oriented collaborative design is an emergent form of collaborative product development, in which the range of collaborative partners extends to wide area community members. It is difficult to construct the organization network because the accurate features of the wide area community members are hard to access. Aiming at this problem, an organization network constructing method based on bidding mechanism is proposed. First, the bidding process based on contract net with confirmation protocol (CNCP) is presented. Then, considering the false profit declared by the bidders, a multiple rounds bidding process combined with genetic algorithm (GA) is used to get the best sub-projects allocation scheme, in which the total payment of sub-projects is minimal and the project due time is satisfied. A case analysis shows that the method can eliminate the false profit declared by the bidders and provides an operable way to construct network organization for community-oriented collaborative design.

    Abstract:
    In need of ultra-high frequency partial discharge location and correction of electrical equipment, we designed a sub-nanosecond steep pulse generator, and constructed the corresponding circuit model through the circuit simulation software Pspice. The influence of the storage capacitor and the supply voltage to the pulse waveform is analyzed. When the storage capacitor is 10 pF and 20pF respectively, the output pulse waveforms have been measured in the conditions of pulse rise time being 0.68 ns and 0.90 ns, pulse width being 0.98 ns and 1.18 ns, pulse peek being 8.72 V and 12.2 V respectively, and partical discharge capacity of charge being 320 pC and 600 pC. The picked multi-pulse singnals are steady with the developped sleeve monopole antenna, the error is less than 70 ps. It can be used for the experimental study of ultra-high frequency partial discharge location and correction of electrical equipment.

    Abstract:
    By reducing the pulse width of high intensity electric field from nanosecond to sub-nanosecond or picosecond level,it will lead the research of pulses on the structure and function of organisms to a new field. Based on the geometry characteristics of ellipsoid,an Impulse Radiating Antenna composed of an ellipsoidal reflector and a cone radiator was proposed,which could transform the high-intensity picosecond electric pulses to superficial layer of organisms, then kill tumor cells non-invasively. Simulation analysis shows that the electric field of ultra-short pulses are focusing effectively with high amplitude,while the gain and E-field pattern of the Impulse Radiating Antenna are stable. In addition,the Voltage Standing Wave Radio is less than 2 and the return loss is less than -10dB,all of which meet the design requirements of ultra-wideband time domain antennas.

    Abstract:
    VHS-ADC high speed digital signal processing platform based on MATLAB and FPGA could be used to build three-phase voltage source rectifier with space voltage vector PWM(SVPWM).The initial phase of coordinate transformation from three phase static coordinate to two phase static coordinate which is called Park transformation and from two phase rotating reference frame to two phase static coordinate is uncertain. There existed noise in acquiring grid voltage and current. Digital phase-locked loop is added to follow the frequency and phase of grid voltage, FIR filter is added to process signal and reduce the interference. External voltage control loop, internal current control loop and the model of coordinate transformation are designed on the VHS-ADC platform. The small power experiment is conducted to verify the stability and feasibility of the control system. The experimental results show that the digital phase-locked loop and FIR digital filter can be applied to three-phase voltage source rectifier.

    Abstract:
    Based on the thorough analysis of typical failure modes and influences of on-load tap-changers in power transformer, the fault-tree of tap-changers is set up using fault-tree analysis techniques and the assessment method for the reliability of tap-changers, combined with the index of the importance and the weight integration method based on the multi-objective decision-making theory and subjective and objective integrated weights, is put forward. The assessment examples show that the method can deduct and ratiocinate the failure modes of tap-changers clearly, find out the weaknesses in time during the operation, reflect the influence degree of each fault modes, obtain the reliability level of tap-changers in the operation and get better assessment results.

    Abstract:
    The theoretical analysis and experiment show that the wall oscillation can reduce the friction drag of the pipe. The operation mechanism, on-site test and numerical simulation of the Increasing Gas Delivery Capacity Device for the Pipe (IGDCDP) invented by the author are introduced in the paper. The on-site test shows that the IGDCDP can not only reduce the friction drag, but also enhance the gas delivery capacity obviously in the natural gas network. The numerical simulation results show that at the time of inducing some new vortex disturbance waves, the pressure pulse wave generated from the impinging edge has an effect on the oscillation cavity wall to cause oscillation with the large structured vortex rings, so the oscillation cavity is the main component that generating the pulsed jet.

    Abstract:
    Based on the elastic contact finite element method(FEM),three-dimensional static contact model of high-contact-ratio gears is established. The Newton-Raphson(NR) method is used to get the contact stress. Load distribution factor of gear teeth and the influence of different friction coefficients were achieved by the FEA. Comparison with Hertz contact stress, the maximum contact stress is less than Hertz stress. Natural frequencies and major modes of the gear are calculated by the Lanc20s method, and the results provided theoretical basis for the design and application of helical involute gear.

    Abstract:
    Unapt winding parameters may cause yarn overlapping with the problems of low yarn density, winding vibration, breaking and disorder when unwinding yarn and others. The yarn arrangement rules and its relationship with the winding ratio are analyzed using geometrical and mathematical methods. It is revealed that winding ratio is an important parameter to prevent yarn overlapping. When the winding ratio is proper, the yarn can be staggered regularly and yarn overlapping can be prevented effectively. A new method for the determination of the proper winding ratio is introduced. The alteration of yarn angle and interval and their effect for the determination of the winding ratio are discussed. The particular process of the method is given and an example is presented.

    Abstract:
    Intermetallic compound Al3Ti coating and TiC particle-reinforced Al3Ti matrix composite coating are prepared on the surface of aluminum alloys by laser cladding. The high-temperature oxidation and immersion corrosion behaviors of those two coatings are compared. The results show that the coatings exhibit minimal oxidation mass gains during the cyclic oxidation close to the melting point of the substrate(600℃) for 70 h, providing excellent protection to the aluminum alloys. When oxidized at 900℃, the coatings show significant mass gains in accordance with the parabolic law, and the oxidation resistance of the composite coating is lower than that of the Al3Ti coating. After immersed in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution for 15 days, the composite coating presents the less corrosion attack for hard Al3Ti and TiC particles impede the growth of pitting, and both coatings improve the corrosion resistance of the aluminum alloys.

    Abstract:
    To understand the energy absorption property of aluminum foam-filled steel pipes and the energy absorption property affected by aluminum foam filler, the energy absorption ability and transverse compression property of steel pipes and aluminum foam-filled steel pipes are tested. The results show that the normal stress-strain curve of steel pipes is similar with that of cellular materials. The normal yield stress of a steel pipe with a large diameter under transverse compression is lower than that with the same wall thickness but a small diameter. The deformation mode of steel pipes can be changed by the filling of aluminum foam. The aluminum foam filler improve the energy absorption ability of steel pipes. The effect of aluminum foam density on the energy absorption ability of steel pipe is small, and the effect of pipe diameter on the energy absorption ability of aluminum foam-filled steel pipes is large.

    Abstract:
    The influences of the applied voltage, materials of electrode, and initial pH value of Acid OrangeⅡon the degradation efficiency of Acid OrangeⅡby gas-liquid gliding arc discharge are investigated. Intermediate products are detected by GC-MS. Metal scraps are analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX). The results indicate that under the conditions of carrier gas O2, and gas flow rate fixed at 0.4 m3/h, and wastewater flow rate of 20 mL/min, and the shortest electrode distance of 3.5 mm, solution concentration of 300 mg/L,applied voltage is 10 kV, material of electrode is stainless steel and initial pH value is acidic or basic, the optimal removal of Acid Orange Ⅱ solution can be achieved. Free radicals attack chromophore groups, benzene-ring and naphthol-ring cleave, then intermediates and small molecule compounds form in three kinds of carrier gases.The effects of conductivity is not obvious. The corrosion of electrode exists in non-equilibrium plasma zone, Fe atom dissolves selectively. The content of oxygen is much, and the main production is Fe2O3 and Fe3O4。

    Abstract:
    There are some particles attached to the side of dipolar chains in magnetorheological fluids. The reorganization and rupture of these chains are simulated when a tension and shear movement are applied, respectively. And the micromechanical behavior of these chains is also analyzed. It is found that the attached particles move into the chains during the tension, which increases the strain when the chain ruptures. While in shear process, attached particles introduce localized weakness in chain, which makes the chain rupture more easily and decreases the strength of the chain.

    Aiming at the status quote of long time for methane extraction and slow speed for laneway excavating in coal seams of Liziya south 2JHJ well, abrasive water jet slotting technology is adopted to improve the methane desorption and increase excavating speed in semi-coal laneway. Through analyzing damage model and protection against outburst mechanism, the process of Coal-Rock Mass being cut and fractured is studied. Through lab test on abrasive water jet cutting coal-bed gangue, a new abrasive water jet cutting device is successfully designed and made and all parameters are determined. It is showed that abrasive water jet can cut through a coal-bed gangue with thickness 60~80 mm and uniaxial compressive strength 62 MPa. After cutting coal seams by abrasive water jet, the surface area for methane is enlarged and then coal seams pressure fell rapidly. Therefore the permeability and desorption of coal seams are greatly increased. The results are as follows: the average productivity of single-hole was enhanced by 2.83 times.

    Abstract:
    Mg/Al hydrotalcite was synthesized by liquid-phase coprecipitation with Mg(NO3)2·6H2O and Al(NO3)3·9H2O and characterized by x-ray diffraction and thermal analysis. Its adsorptive property to trace phthalates in water is also studied. It is showed that the adsorption processes of dimethyl phthalate (DMP), di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and di-n-octyl phthalate (DnOP) on Mg/Al hydrotalcite simultaneously fitted Langmuir isotherms and Freundlich isotherms in the range of concentration studied, and the saturated adsorption capacities for the three phthalates reach 23.148 1, 3.933 9 and 8.920 6 μg/mg, respectively. The removal rates of the phthalates with time increase rapidly at the beginning and then stabilized gradually, the equilibriums of the three PAEs are reached in 600, 200 and 200 min, respectively. The adsorption of DMP is mainly affected by pH value, temperature and ionic strength. While the adsorption of DEHP is mainly affected by temperature and pH value is for that of DnOP.

    Abstract:
    According to its characteristics of multi-direction and multi-scale, Gabor wavelet is divided into 13 channels. Due to different contributions of different channels to the recognition rate, a fuzzy integral fusion approach for facial expression recognition is proposed based on optimal channels. Firstly, three optimal channels are selected according to three proposed principles. And then Gabor features of facial expressional images through those optimal channels are extracted with the dimensions reduction. Finally, each optimal channel is used as a classifier and three classifiers are fused based on multi-classifier combination with fuzzy integral. With the results on JAFFE database, it is found that the recognition rate of the proposed algorithm is 94.41%, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

    Abstract:
    To solve the gas drainage problem of the high gas and low permeability mine, based on the features of the high pressure water, the hydraulic fracturing technology is proposed to improve the gas drainage rate. According to the first strength theory, through analyzing the stress around the borehole, the broken mechanism of the coal under high pressure is studied and the function of critical value is obtained. In addition, based on the coal features of the tenth mine of the Pingdingshan, the fracturing pressure is calculated and the hydraulic fracturing parameter is optimized. The equipment of the hydraulic fracturing technology is developed and applied successfully in the mine. And it is found that the gas drainage flux and concentration are improved with more than 5 times.

    Monitoring and maintenance of sewer system is important to city water environmental management. A method for pipeline monitoring and maintenance decision support system (PMMDSS) based on geologic information system (GIS) and decision making system (DSS) is developed for upgrading sewer system maintaining efficiency. Visual basic (VB) and standardized Active X components are employed in PMMDSS, which selected SuperMap Objects as the development platform. PMMDSS integrates the spatial and model system to achieve the decision analysis for the sewer system monitoring and maintenance. An application Software is developed based on a case study in Yuechi Country of Sichuan Province. The software can be used to dynamically monitor the heath condition and provide an optimum visual decision making platform for the city sewer system.

    Cationic polyacrylamide (P(AM-DAC)) is synthesized by aqueous copolymerization using composite initiator system consists of redox initiator and organic initiator A. The optimum conditions used are as follows: the mass fraction of the redox initiator is 0.15‰, the mass fraction of the organic initiator A is 0.50‰, the gross mass fraction of monomer is 30%, the cationic degree is 40%, and the amount of solubilizer B is 0.20‰. Under these conditions, the molecular weight of the product got is 1.2×107, the dissolving time is 3 h. The structure is proved by IR analysis. DTA-TGA analysis shows that P(AM-DAC) can not be decomposed at room temperature. The results of concentrated sludge dewatering test show that good sludge dewatering results can be achieved using self-made P(AM-DAC) with 40%~80% cationic degree, the transmittance of filtrate is higher than 92%, and the water content ratio of filter cake is lower than 68%. The best sludge dewatering result can be achieved by using the self-made P(AM-DAC) with molecular weight 1.2×107 , cationic degree 40%, the optimum dosage 1.47 kg/t dry sludge, and the transmittance of filtrate is 96.90%, the water ratio of filter cake is 64.50%. The sludge dewatering performance is better than flocculants used in domestic sewage treatment works.

    Abstract:
    Crack growth of drill pipe is a typical discontinuous problem. It is difficult to simulate with conventional finite element method and extended finite element method (XFEM) is developed in recent years for the problem. With the introduction of XFEM, the XFEM model of 5 inch drill pipe was proposed with different depth initial cracks under combined action between torque and tension. Based on the simulation, It is found that the smaller cracks is not easy to grow, whilst the crack of depth more than 2mm could grow under relatively lower external load and larger growth surface, eventually leads to pipe fracture failure. Through this simulation on crack growth of drill pipe, it is showed that the XFEM is appropriate in analysis of fracture failure.

    Abstract:To solve the existence of poor synchronization and large error in the sky luminance test, using fish-eye lens digital camera test sky luminance. Through researching on fish-eye lens and the optical characteristics of digital cameras, get the method that extract the luminance and location information of the measured sky element from digital photos, and determine the exposure parameters and the record range of linear brightness. Analyzing and amending the stability of the camera and light transmission rate of fish-eye lens, get a more accurate test values of sky luminance distribution. This provide important techniques means for daylighting research and daylighting observation.
