    Abstract:
    The target group of the research is the 2009 civil engineering professional training to undergraduate program classes. Questionnaire and class tests were used to investigate students’ professional background and current study situation. Based on the investigation, I discussed on how to adjust the teaching plan, curriculum system, the selection of teaching material, and the delivery of lessons to meet the needs of the target group, and proposed suggestions to facilitate the transition from the professional training to the undergraduate program for civil engineering specialty.

    Abstract:
    The postgraduate education of civil engineering has made a great success during the past 20 years. To training innovative talents, universities and colleges have done many works in the postgraduate education plan and curriculum system. We compared postgraduate education methods and requirements between P. R. China and the USA, and presented that it is important to strengthen the process management, including foundational course training, research topics, research requirements, etc. Meanwhile, to improve their independent creative work ability, they need to take part in more research projects and write more papers. The results show that the foundational theory training is the basis of the innovative ability cultivation.

    Abstract:
    We analyzed the existing problems of mechanical engineering specialty construction and training talents with applied competence in teachingoriented engineering colleges, and put forward new ideas about the professional teaching group construction. Closely combined with the society needs, school orientation and characteristics, based on the employing units, graduates and enrolled students questionnaire survey, we presented a specialized teaching platform with common characteristics of construction machinery, proposed a talent training mode which was professionally characterized by construction machinery, and explored the road for the specialty construction and cultivating talents with applied competence in teachingoriented engineering colleges. The feasibility and effectiveness of this mode were verified based on the effect analysis of talent cultivation.

    The course of rock mechanic is an engineering subject with very strong practicality; the combination of rock engineering, experimental model and theoretical model has considerable effects on its teaching quality. The achievement of high-performance computing technique based on soft and hard platform is employed in teaching rock mechanics. The rock engineering, experimental model and theoretical model are numerically investigated subtly.
