Abstract:Historical development of the conception of culture was analyzed.The paper interpreted logical basis of urban culture in the view of structuralism theories.Architecture and city can be studied from three aspects: utility, culture and art.Accordingly, architecture and city can be viewed utensil, cultural symbolism and aesthetic image.This paper emphatically discussed cultural meanings of architecture and relevant issues of urban morphology and urban life.

Abstract:To build the system of certification and registration for architects in P.R.China, Ministry of Housing and UrbanRural Development decided to set up a professional valuation system for architecture specialty at the same time.The paper introduced the background of building a professional valuation system for architecture specialty, discussed the standard, procedure and evaluation methods of the system, and proposed the meaning of building the system.

Abstract:We discussed the situation of architects’ innovation spirit in P.R.China, and studied effective ways in the view of architecture education to develop innovation education for promoting the competitiveness of Chinese architects.

Abstract:We carried out a questionnaire survey on civil engineering students of 2009.Based on the result, we analyzed the present situation of characteristic education in School of Civil Engineering, East China Jiaotong University, and found out the advantage and shortcoming of current training plan.To complete characteristic training plan of civil engineering specialty, we also investigated the requirement of characteristic education in East China Jiaotong University.

Abstract:In recent years, the study and practice of teaching reform have been carried out on landscape architecture and relative specialties in colleges, and the teaching reform achieved good effects.However, with the rapid development of society and professional disciplines, the landscape architecture teaching is facing a series of new problems that should be solved quickly.Based on this situation, I presented an idea of teaching reform of resource integration.The integration should be carried out from three aspects, which are course conjunction, interdisciplinary cooperation, and interschool cooperation.

Abstract:Students in water conservancy colleges have many characteristics.They have serious specialty thoughts, inappropriate learning methods, and most of them come from rural areas.Based on the characteristics, the paper proposed suggestions to cultivate students in water conservancy colleges, including strengthening ideological education, focusing on specialty introduction to eliminate their ideological problems of specialties, strengthening the communication between teachers and students, cultivating healthy psychology, and training students to have good study habits.

Abstract:Under the special situation of transition in economy and rapid development, regulatory planning can hardly adapted to the urban construction.It is caused by rigescent teaching of regulatory planning in some extent.Therefore, reforming on the regulatory planning teaching is necessary.Based on the analysis of status and problems of regulatory planning teaching in some universities and colleges, the paper discussed the current situation and new social demands, with which regulatory planning is confronting, and put forward to set up a separate regulatory planning teaching course, resulting from the important status of regulatory planning in Chinese planning system.Establishing a teaching idea of combining public policy with engineering technology and optimizing the teaching content of regulatory planning are needed based on the characteristics of talents training in different colleges.Besides, the paper also elaborated that casestudy teaching and heuristic teaching are significant for the success of regulatory planning teaching.

Abstract:Principles of urban planning is not only a core course for urban planning specialty, but also a basic course for specialties of architecture, traffic engineering, and landscape architecture, etc.The paper presented problems in the teaching of principles of urban planning course for nonurban planning specialties, and put forward some teaching suggestions by taking teaching experience of landscape architecture and traffic engineering specialties as examples.

Abstract:Based on characteristics of students in College of Engineering, Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University, characteristics of highrise building structures course, and the demand of applicationoriented talent training, we studied new teaching methods and means for highrise building structures course, and concluded teaching experience of highrise building structures.Changing teaching content and methods for different students, setting up a systematic knowledge system considering with related courses, utilizing specifications and engineering examples, changing test methods, and improving teachers’ capabilities were effective ways.

Abstract:Structural mechanics is a specialized and fundamental course in civil engineering specialty.The paper introduced the reason of its key status, the development history of main structural mechanics theories, and progress of structural mechanics teaching.The influences and requirements of endowments in teaching and research universities and colleges on structural mechanics course were analyzed.An appropriate approach to improve the teaching effect of structural mechanics was discussed, and the object of structural mechanics course construction was proposed, which is studentoriented, diversified talent trainingoriented, engineering practiceoriented, and capacity buildingoriented.

Abstract:Rock mechanics is a subject with intensive theories and various practices.It is an important fundamental specialized course for postgraduate students majored in geotechnical engineering, hydraulic and hydropower engineering, tunnel engineering and mining engineering.To meet the growing demand of highlevel rock mechanics talents in infrastructure construction, teaching reform of rock mechanics for postgraduates must be put forward.Based on the detailed analysis of the main features of rock mechanics teaching, we discussed problems of current rock mechanics teaching in Chinese universities and colleges.We also presented ideas and guiding ideology of teaching reform for rock mechanics according to the actual teaching situation.

Abstract:We investigated needs and attitudes of online mental health education for undergraduate students by using a questionnaire survey about online mental health education, and found that undergraduate students have strong needs and positive attitudes to the online mental health education.They would like to accept psychological tests, lectures and propaganda on line rather than in the traditional forms, and they think it is more effective.Male students have much more confidence on the network, and are more positive toward online psychological counseling.Both male and female students believe that online mental health education should be developed.
