Abstract:Landscape architecture is a new interdisciplinary subject. It interrelates with the society, economic, ecology and culture closely. Therefore, the landscape architecture education should be carried out in a multiple three-dimensional process with consideration of social responsibility, cultural accumulation, and learning ability. In the teaching, the curriculum system should be established based on the development process, emphasizing on Chinese traditional culture and discussing the situation of the subject in the past, at present and in future to achieve the training goal. In this way, students will have professional abilities with characteristics of abundant regional culture, which is helpful in the international competition.
Abstract:The modern higher education overly insists on practicality and utility, which should be criticized to establish a correct educational idea. Based on the educational idea of scientific humanism, we analyzed disadvantages in modern higher education by methods of criticism and comparison. Higher education of scientific humanism is based on scientism, and guided by humanistic values. It pursues an ultimate goal that education develops perfect personality harmoniously, and it emphasizes the scientific and humanistic personal cultivation that both morals and ability are important. It promotes various subjects to infiltrate into each other, trains students for all-round development, and encourages the innovation of heuristic instruction with knowledge innovation as the central idea.
Abstract:Considering the principle of index system construction, we constructed an index system for talent training in the higher education and social development using analysis methods such as questionnaire survey. We collected data of the talent training of higher education and social development in Chongqing from 2003 to 2008, and did the EVIEWS relativity analysis using the professional mathematical analysis software to provide a reference for quantitative analysis of the relationship between the talent training of higher education and social development.
Abstract:New rural construction brings challenges and opportunities to the civil engineering specialty in local universities and colleges. The civil engineering specialty in local universities and colleges has to enhance the function of social service, especially in rural area, to achieve the sustainable development. Based on the new rural construction serving, resource was rearranged and a service platform was constructed to develop the specialty. Suggestions were proposed to help new rural construction and prompt the development of rural area.
Abstract:As the backbone of academic research group in future, postgraduates’ academic integrity will affect education and social morality in China. Because research supervisors are in charge of postgraduate education, they play important roles in academic integrity education. Abstract:Case teaching is an effective problem-oriented teaching method. Implementing ring-teaching with integrated cases in project management course is an effective approach to improve the teaching quality and cultivate practical and creative ability of students. To adapt the ring-teaching with integrated cases, we proposed the inevitable requirement to enhance teachers’ practical accomplishment. It needs teacher to possess directing ability of course teaching, excellent summarizing ability, organizational coordination ability, and orchestrating ability outside class. Approaches to promote teacher’s practical accomplishment mainly include the practical experience of project management, consulting service of project management for social practice, communicating with experts through project management lecture, training for vocational qualification examination, and learning from other teachers. It should follow the inherent law of promotion of practical accomplishment to improve teachers’ practical accomplishment continuously and effectively.
Abstract:The development process of landscape architecture education was reviewed, and its current education situation was presented. Based on the analysis, I thought that quality and quantity of the landscape architecture talent training is the goal and core of education, and constructed a talent training module system according to the training goal, which taking a course module, a management module and a resource module as an operating platform, and taking an evaluation module as a test standard.

Abstract:The water supply and drainage engineering specialty in many local universities and colleges is now facing a long-term task of specialty construction. Abstract:With the rapid economic development in the local society, new requirements for innovation in local civil engineering colleges and universities are appeared. Moreover, it is necessary for them to cultivate innovation ability of master candidates to meet the demand of social development by means of engineering practice.
Abstract:Civil engineering students in local universities and colleges are weak in engineering and practice, and they are not competitive in job hunting. Based on the situation, we applied a talent training pattern called base training-design and research institute to five undergraduate special fields to improve students’ engineering design ability. We took Design Institute of Yangtze University as the training base, and adopted an operation mode of “college integration, two-teacher guidance, on-site teaching, and engineering training”. The result shows that students’ design ability was effectively improved.

Abstract:Civil engineering is a traditional technology, which requests high engineering quality and practical ability for students. There are a number of problems on the innovation ability training in universities. Abstract:Orthography is a basic theory for drawing the “engineering drawing”, and orthographic drawing is the major design to show engineering objects. Turnning the 2D graph into the 3D one quickly and rationally by using certain reading methods is a basic skill for every engineers and technicians, and it is an effective tool for them to understand the design intention. Three methods for reading orthographic drawing were proposed in the paper to provide a reference for teachers, which were analytical method of shape, analytical method of line and plane, and boxing method.

Abstract:Along with the development of steel structure domain, the steel structure curriculum instruction demands continuous renovation and improvement. Based on the teaching requirement on civil engineering, teaching reform was carried on. The main innovation measures include: establishing steel structure teaching group and training system for young teachers, teaching based on students’ specialty and level, paying more attention to practice teaching and steel structure graduation design, and cultivating students’ innovation ability. Abstract:Building architectonics is a fundamental course of architecture major. Because of its various knowledge points, the writing and checking of test paper is very difficult. We designed a test paper automatic generating system software by using the office automatic technology, VBA program and ACCESS database. The software achieves the establishing, adding, deleting, and editing of test bank, choosing questions according to the chapter and emphases, and generating answers.

Abstract:Characteristics of engineering geology and the connotation of engineering geological thinking were analyzed based on innovation training requirements of Chinese higher education. I discussed the relation of engineering geological thinking and innovation thinking, and found out that practice of engineering geology teaching can gradually develop students’ correct professional thinking that can be transformed to innovation thinking. At the same time, students can grasp professional quality and master thoughts and characteristics of engineering geology to be high-quality engineering geology workers.
Abstract:For adapting to the technology background and improving student’s interest in the course of principles of reinforced concrete design, an auxiliary teaching method using open toolbox software for concrete members was introduced into traditional teaching method. First, advantages and disadvantages of hand calculation and computer calculation were analyzed. Then, how to introduce open toolbox software into teaching process was studied. At last, some suggestions for the teaching method based on our teaching experience were proposed. Teaching practice shows that this method is an effective way to solve the problem of separation between the tradition teaching method and the current technology background.

Abstract:Numerical analysis can cultivate students’ ability of solving practical problems. According to the quality of education and civil engineering specialty graduate and undergraduate teaching requirements, based on the characteristics of numerical analysis course and professional needs of science and engineering, we optimized the teaching content of numerical analysis and proposed some experience of teaching contents reform. Practice results show that these optimized teaching reform achieved good teaching effect.

Abstract:We analyzed problems in English for building environment and equipment engineering (BEEE) teaching. We presented teaching methods adapting to current discipline development, and adopted synthetic evaluation pattern and optimization teaching plan to summarize and reconstruct professional knowledge. On the other hand, specific teaching methods and suggestions were proposed, including enhancing teacher-student interaction, activating class atmosphere, and making students participate in the class. Through 5 years teaching practice, the results show that reconstruction teaching can improve teaching quality of English for BEEE, realize the teaching goal, and fulfill the requirement of training BEEE majors.

Abstract:We studied the objective and methods of practice teaching of civil engineering specialty in University of California, Berkeley. To provide a reference for practice teaching innovation in P. Abstract:Based on goals of civil engineering special major construction and teaching experience in many years, we analyzed problems in graduation design teaching of civil engineering in local universities and colleges. To improve graduation design teaching quality, we proposed some solutions as follows: planning the graduation design according to the requirement of employing corporations and students, formulating the graduation design standard, beginning the graduation design as early as possible, selecting multiple subjects, strengthening university-corporation cooperation, and taking full advantage of internet in graduation design teaching.
Abstract:At present, the environment art design develops quickly, and its applicability expands. Based on our teaching experience, we analyzed students’ questions and difficulties in environment art design, such as the limitation of design thought and mistakes of design method. In that case, we carried out the teaching reform. We introduced projects to the design curriculum for the intermediate grade students. It can connect the education and the market, and let the students participate in the project earlier. Abstract:In the energy-saving building design teaching process, there are many restrictions to practice some teaching methods. We carried out part of the teaching methods, which were organizing competition of energy-saving building design, promoting graduation design of energy-saving building, organizing professional teachers to compose energy-saving architectural books, visiting energy-saving building material exhibitions, enhancing co-operation of architecture majors and students majored in other specialties, and leading architecture majors to visit local energy-saving buildings. Abstract:We summarized the aesthetics of multimedia courseware of engineering discipline, such as logicality, functionality, pertinence and digitalization. The main aesthetics appearances are the spice, splendor, rhythm, poetry and philosophy. Meanwhile, the effect of the multimedia course was analyzed on appreciation and perception. The advantages of multimedia may be developed and teaching effect may be improved, if the professional aesthetics of multimedia courseware is showed to the special teaching contents and objects.

Abstract:Chongqing is a typical area as an integration of urban, rural, mountainous and reservoir areas, where the contradiction of urban-rural dual structure existed. To break the pattern of urban-rural division, we must solve rural issues and accelerate urbanization considering the balance of urban and rural development. In this paper, we proposed suggestions for accelerating urbanization in Chongqing in the new period based on the analysis of urbanization situation and problems in Chongqing.
