Abstract:Globalization is a kind of historical trend of human society development. On one hand, in order to deal with the challenge of globalization and inherit the excellent regional culture, on the other hand, to avoid the education homogeneous problem with the rapid increase of the number of Chinese architectural colleges, the combination of regional features and teaching should be a trend in architecture history course. The paper analyzed the concept of regional features briefly, explained the necessity and basic conditions of expressing regional features, discussed some questions about architecture history teaching, and proposed several strategies in expressing regional features of architecture history teaching.

Abstract:Jinan University and Huaqiao University are both comprehensive universities which recruit mainland students and overseas students. Based on the unique student structure, the article starts from analyzing the educational characters of Jinan University students and architectural education system of several universities in Hong Kong, then introduces and discusses the curriculum, content and teaching methods of Chinese architecture history.

Abstract:The rapid social and economic development put forward higher diversity demands on the higher education. Consequently, it is urgent that the universities are supposed to take effective measures to deepen their reforms in teaching, improve the capacity and level of talent training by adjusting teaching contents and updating teaching methods. However, due to some historical factors, the teaching reform of universities has been confronted with many difficulties and problems. To enhance the innovative capacity of universities and develop a number of graduates of high-quality, we must overcome problems in the teaching reform. Therefore, finding the main problems and obstacles existing in the teaching reform of universities can break the old patterns of teaching methods and clarify the direction of higher education reform.

Abstract:Based on the engineer training practice of civil engineering specialty in Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, the paper pointed out the inter-disciplinary talent facing construction was the main type of engineer in local colleges. Through the practice and research learning improved the style of study, grasped the orientation of registration for practitioners person in building trades. With the research and estimate standard of engineer training and the history of civil engineer specialty, expounded the orientation and foundation of engineer training standards in local colleges.

Abstract:The meaning of characteristic application-oriented talents of urban planning (CAOTUP) is discussed, and the teaching purpose of urban planning theory course is analyzed. The teaching content reforms enhanced practice and advanced knowledge in this course is researched. Two new methods, planning project experiencing and combination of writing on blackboard with multimedia showing, are introduced in this paper. The importance of case teaching method and project comment is emphasized. Practice teaching result shows that the students, through the reform of urban planning theory course, can improve their theory knowledge learning efficiency and engineering practice ability, so good cultivation foundation of CAOTUP is established.

Abstract:According to the problems in the teaching process of soil mechanics and ground foundation course, the paper analyzed the content of courses, teaching methods and testing method. The teaching practice reform is successful. The results show that the reform is effective and can be spread in other curriculum of civil engineering specialty.

Abstract:Project assessment is one of the key courses in the engineering management major. Teaching contents can be divided into two parts including classroom theoretical instruction and computer training. The course is difficult to teach since its wide range content as well as strong practicality and feasibility. According to the features of the course and the problems existing in the teaching, interactive teaching method was introduced into the project assessment in detail covering three aspects including classroom instruction interaction, computer training interaction and after-class interaction, which achieved a better teaching effect.

Abstract:According to the author’s several years’ teaching experience of building water supply and drainage engineering, four aspects of teaching reform and practice measure are introduced in the paper, including establishing perfect teaching material system with discipline forward position and post employment requirement, reforming teaching measure and course design , mobilizing the enthusiasm of the students, emphasizing course design and strengthening practice measure, promoting engineering practice through the whole teaching progress.

Abstract:Based on a careful analysis of the teaching status and the guidance of MES and PMBOK, this paper gives some innovations in the engineering project management course system, initially builds the new course system, with distinguishing characteristics of being comprehensive and systematic, making the key points stand out and integrating theories with practice. It makes the active exploration about how to improve the teaching effect of engineering project management course from the perspective of course system reform.

Abstract:Instructional objective and meaning of bilingual teaching of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) were introduced. The establishment of bilingual teaching resources systems including teachers, teaching materials and multimedia courseware were summarized. The instruction models and methods in the teaching practice of HVAC were discussed. The teaching practice results indicate that bilingual HVAC teaching can inspire the study interests of students, and improve their ability in acquire professional knowledge by English method. It is proposed to further improve the teaching material and examination pool in order to enhance the teaching qualities.

Abstract:Restricted by insufficient class hour and unsatisfactory experiment condition, it’s hard for traditional mode of surveying teaching to meet its teaching requirement which pays more attentions on practice and application. The paper researched on the development status of network teaching platforms, pointed out that the colleges should construct surveying teaching platform on the internet of campus for non-surveying specialty undergraduates to assist surveying classroom teaching, discussed general functions of network teaching platform and disciplinary characteristics functions represented by network experiment. Generally, the paper put forward the teachers should play a key role of instructors and guides in network teaching, colleges should cooperate with each other to reduce the cost of platform development, improve platform function,and enhance surveying teaching quality effectively.

Abstract:This paper was derived from the author’s teaching work. Through studying the silicate structural chemistry containing silica minerals of H+ related chemical structure, it can be found that the H+ ions in mineral can be structured with the O2- ions formatting (OH)- ion or H2O water molecules, which make a possible to change classification method of mineral structural chemistry. Referring to Professor Friedrich Libau’s classification method, structural chemistry of all silicate minerals containing H+ ion is classified.

Abstract:The undergraduates’ practical ability and creative ability could be trained with structural design competition. There are three main teaching links which involved structure selection,calculation and model making in the competition organization. In this paper, corresponding teaching measures are put forward to cultivate the students’ ability including conceptual design,numerical calculation and operation. Organizing intramural competition and opening innovative course are two kinds of effective teaching organization. Abstract:Observing practice teaching based on system theory and cybernetics,it is indubitable that practice teaching is a control system．Cybernetics considers that interfere information of environment can act on both the controlled and exert–controller．So,before the appearance of output information,exert –controller can sent out control information in advance to correct the deviation of system,instead of the deviation has already emerged．It is just feed-forward control．The paper surveys feed-forward control in practice teaching from system theory in order to emphasize the importance of feed-forward control in practice teaching．The implement way of feed-forward control in practice teaching system is put forward．

Abstract:The construction of series experimental teaching platform aims at the advancement of civil engineering teaching. Based on the experimental teaching reform of civil engineering specialty, this paper introduces the content and methods of construction of series experimental teaching platform for undergraduate civil engineering specialty, which includes the adjustment of teaching plan, separate setting of experimental teaching courses, organization of experimental teaching platform, design of series experiment projects, establishment of network management platform for experimental teaching and the implement of open and multilevel experimental teaching. Construction of series experimental teaching platform for civil engineering can help to train students’ ability of analyzing and solving practical problems and stimulate their creative spirit. The platform construction can also lay a solid foundation for the advancement of experimental teaching and set a perfect platform for students to promote their independency and initiative in experiment.

Abstract:This paper investigated the deficiencies of practice teaching in civil engineering specialty of local colleges, stressed the necessity of practice teaching reform. Combined with nearly a decade of reform experience, the college proposed an effective mode of enterprise-college-researcher cooperation and summarized the preliminary results of practice. Abstract:Discourse reading teaching is an important element in teaching business English reading. Since business reading covers a wide range of professional business English, students find it difficult to understand even though they might have a good command of English. Basic knowledge of business, knowledge of business discourse and reading strategies are required to facilitate the reading comprehension. This paper proposes the use of mind map in teaching business English discourse reading to improve students’ reading strategies and comprehension in business English. Before reading, mind map is adopted to clearly display the required background information to complement or stimulate students’ existing schemata; during reading, mind map is a scaffold to guide them in reading with discourse strategies, such as selecting the key information, finding the thread of the discourse and etc.

Abstract:Based on the perspective of students, the paper researched on teachers’ competency of free normal students with questionnaire, found five factors: teaching quality, education quality, innovation and enterprising, paying attention to the growth of students, and personality characteristics. Free normal students pay more attention to the competency of five factors than other students; they have significant differences in the innovation, enterprising and a number of specific terms. The study also found several important problems that the students hoped gain respect and equal treatment.
