Abstract:To improve students’ practical ability and comprehensive quality to meet social demands, we should strengthen core professional ability training in teaching, which is scientific and in line with students’ characteristics. Teaching objectives of the specialty and courses should be clear and specific. Therefore, the distance between professional education and engineering practice can be shortened greatly. In the core professional ability training, students have enough time to think, self-study, discuss, and practice, and their learning enthusiasm will be enhanced.

Abstract:Civil engineering is a subject involving in many practical applications. Under current registration system, civil engineering students need to attend and pass various registration examinations to be a registered engineer after their graduation. To improve graduate students’ ability to meet marketing demands, a more reasonable civil engineering curriculum system construction adapting to registration system has become a major issue in front of educators. From aspects of setting curriculum system, reforming teaching contents and cultivating teaching staff, we explored methods, means, and ways by which teachers can establish a civil engineering teaching system to make the current civil engineer training goal integrated with the registration system and international prevailing engineering education practice. Purposes of the curriculum system construction were enhancing practicality of civil engineering talent training and improving the registered professional engineer system in China.
Abstract:Under the background of prominent engineer training and the first-subject establishment of urban and rural planning, we analyzed current problems of urban planning teaching in Ningxia University and put forward teaching reform methods by constructing a scientific curriculum system, building a characteristic specialty, conducting effective teaching methods, and establishing an open environment for teaching.

Abstract:There are many differences in curriculum systems between China and Australia. The differences and characteristics of the talent training mode were compared and analyzed taking the example of mechanical engineering specialty of the University of New South Wales in Australia (UNSW) and Shenyang Jianzhu University in China (SJZU). The mechanical undergraduate curriculum system was studied from three aspects of the curriculum setting, the relations of course group, and the practical training. Then recommendations were provided for the specialty construction and personnel training of mechanical engineering in universities.
Abstract:Henan University of Technology is one of the second batch of colleges and universities that implement “A plan for educating and training out standing engineers” designed by the Ministry of Education. We introduced basic requirements of the plab of innovative ideology and innovation capability for undergraduates, analyzed existing problems and causes of the current cultivation of innovative ideology for undergraduates based on characteristics of the specialty, and discussed approaches and methods to enhance the cultivation by optimizing the curriculum system, reforming the teaching model, and strengthening the practical teaching.
Abstract:For undertaking the file of excellent engineer talent training project revised by the Ministry of Education, according to the training program of road and bridge specialty in Shanghai Institute of Technology revised in 2011, and based on the analysis of the development of road and bridge specialty and talent requirements in the industry, the reform of talent training mode and the teaching system were researched under the background of interdisciplinary combined with teaching experience and specialty construction and development to provide a reference for excellent engineer talent training.

Abstract:Innovative ability is one of the important qualities, which is the essential to industry personnel. Due to the inflexible teaching system and the lack of practice courses in the current high education, students’ innovative consciousness and potential are not fully developed. Facing this situation, we reestablished the teaching mode by creating a good teaching atmosphere, respecting students’ individual differences, and adjusting the inflexible examination. Meanwhile, to strengthen practice, we built a school-enterprise cooperation platform and held science competitions. Teaching mode reform and engineering practice can stimulate students’ innovation emotions, arouse their innovation consciousness, and develop their innovation potential. Therefore, the goal of developing students innovative ability will be achieved.
Abstract:Characteristics of landscape architecture and the status and trend of the course after landscape architecture becoming the first-level discipline were analyzed, the curriculum and training idea of typical landscape architecture department in the west were introduced, features of curriculum in architectural universities and agricultural universities in China were presented, and the status of teaching materials for BLA in China was analyzed. Then a design of a series of teaching materials based on the discussion of core curriculum of Landscape Architectural specialty was proposed.
Abstract:The historical development of background of general education was briefly described and difficulties and challenges under the background of national higher education were analyzed. Based on the case of general education in the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University, development strategies of the general education were discussed from five aspects, including constructing the course structure scientifically to achieve optimal resources allocation, organizing the course content scientifically to achieve a comprehensive collaborative development, planning the curriculum system to achieve the organic growth of the core, integrating disciplines to promote cultural communication, and adjusting the teaching direction to achieve mental training.

Abstract:To improve competitiveness and originality of scientific research teams effectively, we must strengthen the cultivation of the internal culture of scientific research teams. Abstract:The talent training quality of landscape architecture specialty was analyzed to build a set of comprehensive evaluation system for evaluating each link of specialty construction, of which the purpose was to meet the current needs of the rapid development of the landscape industry talent training evaluation system. The evaluation should not only focus on teachers’ teaching work. It should be reformed from the simple teaching evaluation to a comprehensive professional evaluation in order to efficiently promote the specialty construction of landscape architecture.

Abstract:The deep foundation pit supporting course is practical. It is necessary to develop teaching methods for ensuring the teaching effect. According to the civil engineering specialty training scheme, we discussed the teaching mode and the practical teaching mode and applied them to teaching practice. Under the condition of less teaching time, students could comprehensively grasp the knowledge of the course. Abstract:According to the curriculum system of structural engineering, the hierarchical structure of the curriculum system using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was designed and the weight of each course in the curriculum system was determined by constructing and analyzing the judgment matrix. The results can provide a reference for the training scheme construction of structural engineering reasonably.

Abstract:The recognition by students during teaching always makes teachers happy, which is the most important incentive to drive teachers improving course design and teaching effects. Thus the teaching idea should be transformed from teachers-dominant to students-oriented and a heuristic and interactive teaching mode should be adopted. Correspondingly, teachers should deeply understand the specialty characteristics of each course and adopt appropriate teaching methods, such as the case study method and the problem-based teaching method, so as to arrange every process of the courses well. Besides that, teachers should effectively organize the teaching language and express briefly and clearly. Through the long-term training and accumulation, a special and reasonable teaching style should be established for each teacher.
Abstract:A review on the teaching mode of Bauhaus was presented which is composed of the basic course teaching and studio practical teaching. According to characteristics and the current situation of domestic undergraduate education of landscape architecture, a set of optimization plan was proposed focusing on comprehensive basic course teaching and strengthening studio practical teaching.

Abstract:To raise teachers’ teaching level and improve students’ ability of inquisition and solving questions, we presented the research-based teaching connotation and proposed teaching ideas based on our teaching experience. The course teaching should combine theoretical teaching with practical teaching and meet students’ variation demands of being postgraduates or work directly after graduate. Question discussion, case analysis, curriculum project training, and special study were carried out in the teaching practice. The research-based teaching can promote a teacher to raise his/her personal academic level and strengthen students’ adaptability to the future work. It should become the main teaching method of the course.

Abstract:On account of the key problem existing in teaching of civil engineering course, which is separation of theory knowledge from practice, a systematic reformation scheme was put forward based on instantiation thought. By introducing actual cases as “content index” in new teaching material, developing a model room of construction technology and a reference room of actual case, and forming an auxiliary teaching database (video, animation, and site picture), we built a systematic resources platform for teaching and further made reasonable use of the platform in teaching process. As results of course reformation, students can well combine practice knowledge with theory knowledge together during the course of learning and make more clear how and where to use course knowledge. Finally, better combination of theory with practice and better teaching effect can be gained.
Abstract:Foundation engineering is a basic course of civil engineering and is practical. Its main characteristic is that its theory and technique develop with the development of technology. Therefore, the foundation engineering course teaching should be adjusted accordingly. To meet the requirement of talent training of civil engineering specialty, the foundation engineering course teaching should take teaching contents of architecture engineering and traffic and mechanical engineering as its main teaching content, absorb new theories and techniques, and take specialty characteristics of different universities into account.

Abstract:Architectural physics is a required fundamental course of architecture specialty. Its thermal environment content also is the significant theory basis of building energy conservation and emission reduction, which should be tightly combined with the modern technology development and the social demand. We introduced the low carbon design methods of buildings into the traditional classroom teaching content of architectural thermal environment, which focused on the application of low carbon technology in designing and developed the low carbon energy saving consciousness of students to cultivate students applying knowledge to practical designing and achieve a perfect combination of design and function. We put forward a feasible teaching method of low carbon design in construction.
Abstract:We analyzed the status of engineering drawing course teaching of environmental engineering undergraduates. Based on our practice teaching, we explored teaching methods from aspects of teaching contents and curriculum setting to improve students’ ability of applying theoretic knowledge to resolving practical matter. The teaching reform provided various teaching materials and methods, which aroused students’ study enthusiasm, improved their classroom study efficiency, and strengthened the teaching effect.

Abstract:Detecting technology of materials engineering is a foundational course for architecture and civil engineering students and a key course for inorganic nonmetal materials engineering specialty which is a national specialty building project. To meet requirements of employing unit and featured program construction, we optimized teaching contents, improved and enriched teaching methods, increased training cases, improved engineering practice, and reformed assessment methods. Finally, we have achieved a unity between teaching and learning, as well as between learning and applying.

Abstract:Ring-teaching with integrated cases in project management was set in a complete project management practice and infuses repeated cycle in engineering practice problems throughout the entire teaching practice of engineering management course. Its core was a teaching process that students can participate in facing to the complex engineering environment. Starting from the typical case selection, discussing and reviewing cases in class and out were the main way, and students’ actively participation in whole process was a core idea. Facing concrete engineering problems was oriented to implement comprehensive modular class setting and participate in practical activities forwardly was the application link. Students’ independent proposition and self-evaluation were made as reforming foothold. Teachers and students whether at school or not should participate activities interactively aiming to improve students’ engineering consciousness, practice ability, cooperation spirit and innovative thinking, as well as the teaching quality.

Abstract:Based on the experience of the tectonics lab course in the School of Architecture of CUHK, we designed a new teaching schedule and new teaching methods in the process of design courses. A new teaching method including rationality and sensibility should be explored in the stage of basic education.
Abstract:The traditional teaching model ignored the difference of students’ personality. The layered teaching mode can make students learn something even their cognitive ability and personality were in different levels. Theories of layered teaching were introduced in the paper. Taking mathematical analysis course in vocational and technical colleges as an example, I presented a new teaching mode according to students’ personality and analyzed the IRT test model adopting a hierarchical method to optimize the critical segments of computerized adaptive testing mode.
Abstract:Project management is a practical course and requires high-level practical teaching. However, the result of practical teaching was ineffective due to restrictions of the teaching content, method and condition. We presented the content of practical teaching combined with our teaching experience and put forward the thought of modularization design in practical teaching content, which divided the full content into different modules based on the key points in practical teaching program. It achieved the rational allocation of quota and completely covered key points. The design has achieved good teaching effects.

Abstract:According to the training goal in characteristic civil engineering specialty, we try to improve students’ ability by implementing university-enterprise cooperation in graduation design. Considering human resource needs of enterprises and requirements of knowledge, we properly chose the project of graduation, monitor process and assess performance of each work. Each design was an actual project and should be solved by students themselves. Graduation design was evaluated depending on the ability of applying knowledge, creativity and feasibility.

Abstract:The safety of the high formwork supporting system not only plays a vital role in the successful engineering construction, but also makes a great difference to people’s lives and property. To effectively control the safety of the high formwork supporting system and prevent the collapse accident, we carried out gray correlation fault tree analysis to recognize all kinds of collapse modes, analyzed the main reasons leading to the collapse, and then pointed out the weak links based on the gray correlation analysis theory. The result shows that the gray correlation analysis can make detailed description to factors and a logical relationship that leading to the collapse and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention of the high formwork collapse accident.

Abstract:Guangdong Province is at the forefront of China’s economic development and its local colleges and universities have occupied remarkable position and played a vital role in serving and promoting the local economic construction with distinct regional characteristics. We conducted the in-depth analysis and study of the regularity of the establishment and development of local colleges and universities in Guangdong, the strong support of the talent cultivation, the emphasis point of the scientific innovation application, and the core point of the humanistic spirit inheritance, explored effective ways as to strengthen the relationship of local colleges and universities with the society, and proposed new trends and new approaches for the effective cooperation with the regional governments, enterprises and the general public. The result is a reference for the development of social service functions of the local colleges and universities in other provinces of China.
Abstract:Strengthening the management mechanism of postgraduates in enterprise postgraduate workstations is essential to guarantee the operation of enterprise postgraduate workstations and talent training quality. The organization construction, establishment of rules and regulations, well defined rights and responsibilities, establishment of projects and assessment, work disciplines, and ideological work for postgraduates were proposed and analyzed to find effective management approaches.
