Abstract:In the increasingly competitive construction environment, technology innovation and management innovation are important factors for the construction enterprise to keep the competitive advantage. Dynamic coordination in technology innovation and management innovation system will be more important for the construction enterprise. We discussed the connotation of technology innovation and management innovation for the construction enterprise, constructed an innovation system evaluation model and index system, and used the model to measure the technology innovation and management innovation level of a construction enterprise in Chongqing. The result shows that the synergy model is contribute to construction enterprises' competitiveness.

Abstract:The DEA safety accident management evaluation method need no prior stating of evaluation indexes weight and it can perform a quantitative analysis for input redundancy and output deficiency. We applied DEA model in the relative evaluation analysis of construction safety performance in Chongqing. The result shows that the redundancy of death number is comparatively higher than the redundancy of construction accident number. Therefore, the construction safety accident management performance of Chongqing needs to be improved. We proposed a quantitative evaluation method to measure the construction safety accident management performance and provided a new process and idea to evaluate the safety performance.

Abstract:Enhancing undergraduates' global perspective and capability development through a collaborative general education subject is both important and challenging. The paper reports the findings based on a case study of a collaborative summer program "Construction for Better Living" between The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Tongji University. The paper first reviews the background, objectives and student groups of the summer program, followed by analyses of teaching module, student assessment module, and student feedback questionnaire. Finally, five recommendations on the design and execution of a collaborative general education subject are provided.

Abstract:We researched on the teaching team construction of undergraduate application oriented majors, illustrating the purpose, role and characteristics of team construction, building an evaluation system and a fuzzy evaluation set, and analyzing the consistency of team connotation and index system. Furthermore, we evaluated the effect of team construction by using AHP and FCE to identify key links and proposed measures for teaching material construction, teaching research as well as science research and social services for teaching team construction of engineering cost. The results show that AHP and FCE are suitable, the research method is reasonable, and the process of proposing measures is scientific.

Abstract:Taking the party performance and value identity as indexes of the teaching effect of ideology and political theory course, we researched on the teaching effect of ideology and political theory course in universities and colleges by using structural equation modeling (SEM) based on our investigation in universities and colleges of Chongqing. The results show that: 1) University students hold low performance identity and middle value identity of the governing party; 2) The ideology and political theory course can influence university students from two paths which are the direct path (the theory course→value identity) and the indirect path (the theory course→performance identity→value identity). The indirect path is more important and its effect is contributed mainly by the mediation variable performance identity; and 3) The teaching attitude have the most important impacts on value identity compared to teaching contents and teaching styles.

Abstract:Problems in the engineering management specialty construction were presented and characteristics of engineering management majors were analyzed. Suggestions to improve the characteristic construction of engineering management specialty were proposed by setting professional training target and curriculum system, strengthening practice teaching, deepening cooperation between colleges and corporations, focusing on ordering form personnel training, developing students' comprehensive quality, and combining the engineering management professional education with professional association approval systems and EMCI standards. Different universities and colleges should build their own style and way of running a school.

Abstract:Combined with the characteristic training mode of the cooperative education of working and learning, we reformed on the application oriented talent training mode from aspects of training objectives, training plans, theory course systems and the practical course system. Based on the social demand for professional talent, we developed a new training program and plan, optimized the professional curriculum system, and constructed the practice course system of three modules (experiment, practice, and design) and three levels (foundation, comprehensive, and innovation). Achievements were made in aspects of practice base construction, textbook construction, teaching staff construction, and students' innovation ability cultivation. Finally, a new practice teaching mode "experience construction" was presented.

Abstract:The teaching content of road survey and design is complicated and the traditional cramming teaching method achieves bad teaching effect. Therefore, the teaching reform based on project driven teaching method was proposed in classroom teaching. According to the important course contents, several project proposals were edited covering parts of teaching contents. The students were divided into several research teams to carry out and complete these projects, and achievements were submitted as the main base of evaluating the grade. The practice result shows that the teaching effect is improved obviously by using the project driven teaching method.

Abstract:In undergraduate teaching of elasticity, matrix representations of basic quantities and equations were used. We gave matrix representations of relationships between basic physical quantities, such as stress, strain and displacement, including basic equations, boundary conditions, and coordinate transformations of basic physical quantities. Matrix representations are simply written, easy to be memorized, and easy to be understood.

Abstract:Specialized courses are important in cultivating engineering talents. Therefore, constructing a teaching structure in accordance with the characteristics of specialized courses is the requirement of deep teaching reform. Taking water regulation course of harbor and channel engineering specialty as an example and based on current teaching situation investigation, the teaching conception of the course was presented, the teaching structure titled "leading and the man body" was proposed, and the teaching experience was concluded. The "leading and the man body" teaching structure focus on teachers' leading role as well as students' cognitive subject status which can meet the teaching requirements.

Abstract:Integrated teaching of course group around architectural fundamental design is based on the constructivism, which has led to a dynamic and opening course group, blurring disciplinary boundaries among the courses, and there is a new way of lessons preparation by the colleagues. It aims to help the freshmen to frame the structure of knowledge and to practice what they have learned. In the course group, the linear teaching organization and training units are used and different professional teachers cooperate in the teaching. Integrated teaching of course group around architectural fundamental design has deconstructed the traditional teaching system which based on only one discipline, and achieved interdisciplinary teaching.

Abstract:We briefly introduced the current teaching situation of the basic architectural design. In the teaching practice of architectural design preliminary course, we proposed the teaching method of "modularization" combined with teaching contents in other colleges according to the existing problems in the course teaching, and analyzed the feasibility of the method. Abstract:In the course system of building environment and equipment engineering, test and measurement technology of building environment is one of the important professional and technical courses. Based on characteristics of the course and problems in teaching, the project design teaching method was used to obtain excellent teaching effect in a limited time. The classroom teaching content, teaching organization and the curriculum evaluation methods were discussed and reformed. Through a semester of teaching practice, it is proved that the method can help students grasp measuring principle, basic method and technique of the building environment and equipment parameters more systemically, stimulate students' autonomous learning interest, cultivate students' team cooperation and innovation ability, and improve the teaching quality.

Abstract:Engineering geology, with rich teaching content and strong practicality, is one of the fundamental courses for students majoring in water conservancy. It is worthy to be deeply discussed on how to effectively improve the quality of teaching in the classroom and the field geological practice. Difficulties of the course and practical problems in teaching were analyzed in detail. Meanwhile, teaching experience and reform exploration were comprehensively introduced from the point view of classroom teaching, practical teaching, bilingual teaching and course assessment, respectively. It is proposed that in classroom teaching, theory should be closely tied to the engineering practice. In practical teaching, the ability of students on how to discover, analyze and solve engineering geological problems should be emphasized. Carrying out bilingual teaching is an inevitable trend to train international talent and students' comprehensive ability should be fully disclosed in assessment system.

Abstract:The independent college is a new educational model in the process of elite education to popularization higher education in our country. Students in the independent college have similarities with general college students and some distinct personalities. Due to the specialties, English teachers in those colleges are faced with some particular puzzles and difficulties. Abstract:The practical teaching is an important teaching link for engineering majors in universities and colleges. We analyzed the mode, teaching effect and existing problems of several practical teaching links including in class experiments, the professional practice, the productive practice, the graduation field work, and the graduation design. The results show that the place out of school for the professional practice can not meet the requirements, the graduation field work is formalistic, there are some conflicts between graduation project and getting a job for students, and the innovative experiment is lacking. The results lay the foundation for an alternative program to the practical teaching of engineering majors in universities and colleges.

Abstract:The goal of most newly established local universities is to training application oriented talents to serve local and regional economic construction and social development. To meet the requirement of urbanization, many newly established local universities established the civil engineering specialty. We took Bijie University as an example to discuss the course design and teaching methods of civil engineering in newly established local universities, presented an assurance system based on the main line of application oriented talent training for graduate design quality, and described specific steps of implementing the guarantee system. Practice in Bijie University achieved good results.

Abstract:Structural mechanics is the main professional basic course in civil engineering. For a long time, the role of structural mechanics experiment is not so clear because it is something between the material mechanics experiment and the professional structural experiment. Abstract:Practical teaching of engineering geological is an important way to cultivate the ability of analyzing and solving the problem with engineering geological theories. The practical teaching situation of engineering geological course was investigated for non geological engineering students of three universities in Hunan province. Then four problems were present for the practical teaching of engineering geological course, including shortage of practical teaching class time, lack of outside practical teaching funds, shortage of outside practical teaching place and low ratio of teachers and students. Five teaching reform methods were suggested, which were arranging reasonable teaching time, combining teaching contents with the practice, adopting practical engineering discussion in teaching, combining experiments with engineering practice, and using practical teaching method.

Abstract:The monotonous and dull way of teaching results in unsatisfied teaching effects of steel structure principles. To improve students' perceptual knowledge about the whole loading progress of steel specimens, failure models and stress distribution, the finite element program ABAQUS was used in the teaching of steel structure principles. It can make the teaching of complicated steel principles more visualized and lifelike, such as seismic behavior, stability damage and stress concentration. The result shows that this method can effectively enhance students' interest in learning and improve the teaching quality.
