Abstract:After 30 years reform and open, the higher education in China has been greatly improved and developed to mass higher education. Improving talent training quality is the core task of higher education. Taking the condition of local industry colleges into consideration, we analyzed the connotation of talent training quality and put forward feasible advices to improve talent training quality from aspects of school-running orientation, educational philosophy, school-running characteristics, talent training mode, and policy setting.

Abstract:Through long observations and careful thoughts on the teaching practice of general-knowledge and quality-oriented education in Chongqing University, it is found that the teaching in the freshman seminar is relatively in chaos and the validity and actual effect of teaching is not ideal. The course should be designed at a top level and the core plate and the main link of teaching contents should be built. The seminar should contain three key elements: “college students”, “professional learners” and “professionals”, to guide students changing from high school students to qualified college students so as to build up a firm foundation for becoming qualified professionals. The seminar teaching should combine “research” with “discuss” and provide instructive materials as the basis and prerequisite for “research”. The reading materials should be selected and collected by some experts. At present, the overall validity and the actual effect of the general-knowledge and quality-oriented education are not high in Chongqing University. This is caused by the study link instead of the teaching link. Feasible measures should be adopted to improve the teaching validity and the teaching effect.

Abstract:Double qualified teachers are the emphasis and characteristics in the construction of teaching staff and they are necessary in improving teaching quality. The school-school cooperation and school-enterprise cooperation provides the opportunity and platform for training double qualified teachers. We expounded the significance of school-school cooperation and school-enterprise cooperation, put forward the connotation and basic quality of double qualified teachers working at engineering colleges, and analyzed the ways and methods of training double qualified teachers, which was testified by the practice in Heilongjiang Institute of Technology, including engineers’ forum, in-post work at enterprises, graduation projects reform, and campus scientific & technological and cultural activity. Teachers can enrich their engineering experience and improve their practical ability, which shows a remarkable effect on double qualified teacher group construction.

Abstract:According to the professional ability requirement of characteristic applied undergraduates, the concept of comprehensive practice ability is defined for urban and rural planning specialty, and the importance of four hierarchy practice teaching systems (FHPTS) for comprehensive practice ability of undergraduate is emphasized. Four contents of FHPTS are put forward, which includes primary practice, comprehensive practice, innovation practice and engineering practice. Based on our teaching practice, improved practice teaching methods are given, including commenting on group designs by teachers and students, integrating practice site, working practice, and creative practice with professional competition, and combining practice and design with employment.

Abstract:According to general standards of the plan for educating and training outstanding engineers (PETOE) of civil engineering specialty and adhering to creation, innovation and enterprise education concepts of Wuhan University which takes the innovation and engineering practice ability education as the core, thirty undergraduates were selected from civil engineering class of 2010 as the first experimental outstanding engineers class to explore and practice PETOE. The general courses, engineering basic courses and specialized course were carefully set for them and they were required to enter National Engineering Practical Center or provincial engineering practice training base for enterprise training programs. In addition, they were required to participate in student innovation and entrepreneurship training program. These procedures were expected to keep these students’ knowledge, ability and quality at a high level, to arouse their passion for innovation as well as to cultivate their professional interest and professionalism. After two years practice, satisfied outcomes were achieved. Based on this, we extended the experience to two classes every year in our college as “outstanding engineer class”. The plan was also expanded in construction, underground engineering, and road and bridge engineering.

Abstract:Building industrialization is the new direction and inevitable choice of the building industry development in China. Abstract:Students generally show little interest on and pay a low attention to the engineering article writing course. The teaching effect of engineering article writing is not good. Abstract:Surveying and measuring of ancient architecture is a significant component of the Chinese architectural history course. Hexi Corridor traditional architecture is a considerable regional architecture of China. However, the Chinese architectural history course teaching is based on north official style architecture and students know less about such kind of architecture as Hexi Corridor, which requires teachers to actively explore and seek reasonable teaching methods to guide students understand it. Based on the surveying and measuring of Wuwei Confucius Temple in 2010 and Minqin Shengrong Temple in 2013, we analyzed how to promote students’ understanding of regional architecture and complete teaching schedule under different conditions.

Abstract:Analysis of seismic damage is regarded as the important link in seismic teaching. It not only enriches the seismic teaching content, but also has important significance in practical work. The paper presents the analysis method which follows query, decomposition, discrimination and verification step by step. Deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning are applied. The interaction relationship of research object and the outside world is explored by using qualitative and quantitative methods. Taking the information, knowledge, and thinking into consideration is the basic method to improve students’ analysis ability. Combining the latest achievement of experimental studies with theoretical analyses, students’ study enthusiasm is stimulated and the seismic technology is correctly grasped by them.

Abstract:We explored the education regulation of building water supply and drainage course to improve students’ comprehensive quality, develop their ability of solving actual engineering problems, and make them fitting in the needs of professional positions. Abstract:The overseas Chinese students are an important educating group in the higher education institutions for overseas Chinese. Soil mechanics is a necessary compulsory course for undergraduate students of civil engineering. We analyzed the major issues during teaching overseas Chinese student from different aspects, such as students’ different education background in high school, students’ learning interests, characteristics of soil mechanics, and the teaching experience of the lecturer. Abstract:Pollution control of indoor air is a special course of the building environment and energy application engineering specialty. It contains various and comprehensive knowledge. Firstly, the teaching content of the course are optimized and the teaching emphases and difficulties are found. Secondly, in the course teaching, explaining is the main teaching method. Abstract:In the mechanics course teaching, using Dirac function can easily express the concentrated force, concentrated couple, instantaneous pulse force and other physical quantities in a continuous distribution in a form of uniform. Based on the definition, basic properties and physical background of Dirac function, the typical applications of Dirac function in the mechanics course are given in the paper. Using Dirac function in the teaching of material mechanics, structural mechanics and elastic mechanics reflects the diversity of mechanics course teaching.

Abstract:The reinforced concrete structure course is a technically fundamental subject for majors such as civil engineering and hydraulic engineering. The course contains many concepts and ideas concerning the structural seismic resistance. The Wenchuan earthquake occurred on May 12, 2008 resulted in cracking, damage and even collapse of large amount of reinforced concrete structures. Therefore, in the course teaching, seismic concepts and ideas are transferred to students from the viewpoints of structural ductility, confined concrete, and “stronger column and weaker beam” based on analysis of different collapse behaviors of structures. As a result, it strengthens students’ understanding about the seismic design of reinforced concrete structures and stimulates their interest in studying the course, which is a foundation for their following courses such as seismic design of the buildings and high-rise buildings.

Abstract:Operational research is an important basic course for postgraduates majored in engineering management. This course focuses on cultivating students’ ability of managing organizational systems and shows a rapid development in higher education. Several drawbacks exist in current operational research education practice, including ambiguous teaching objectives, unreasonable teaching arrangements, unreasonable teaching methods, insufficient practice sessions, and unscientific performance evaluation. Based on years of teaching and research practice and experience, corresponding solutions are presented in the paper. To be specific, the teaching objectives should be clear and definite, the teaching content should be identified and updated in a reasonable manner, the case-based teaching method should be enriched, the teaching of software regarding operations research’s application should be enhanced, and the traditional performance evaluation way should be improved. These methods can promote the reform of the operational research education in engineering management and other fields and provide a valuable reference for training excellent managers and skilled workers.

Abstract:With the continuous development of social informatization, we analyzed characteristics of the construction materials course system. The course system was complex, rich in content, and comprehensive. Starting from the construction requirements of the top-quality resource sharing course, we used the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to find the best teaching reform mode from three aspects of teaching contents, teaching methods and evaluation mode. The optimal teaching reform is multimodal teaching method which takes multimedia and network teaching as the primary way and the traditional teaching as a complementary method. The research results can be a reference to improve the talent training quality and promote teaching reform in related colleges and universities.

Abstract:The resource origin of the library is based on the bibliography which makes up the foundation of the library. In the highly-developed information technology time, the library is facing to a tough challenge. The traditional service mode, the information data and the completion encounter huge challenges as well. To solve the resource shortage of the library and meet readers’ demands, the staff should work harder to get more funds, to buy more bibliographies, and to establish characteristics. Moreover, it is necessary to construct a bit more suitable system and boost the circulation effectiveness. Libraries should pay more attention to offering updating information and decreasing the refusing rate of book-borrowing.

Abstract:Firstly, we discussed concepts of system, continuous system, discrete system, project, scientific research project, and university scientific research project system. Then we studied the discreteness of the project system, concluded basic features of scientific research projects, put forward the concept of project system discreteness, and analyzed the contradiction between the ideal and practical conditions of the project system. We also presented the contradiction between the expected continuity and the practical dispersion of the project system from the perspective of epistemology, which was the result of objective law. This contradiction can be unified with the technological innovation. Finally, we put forward key points of the scientific research management with the project system dispersion.
