Abstract:There are some problems the graduate education workers must to think about. Abstract:Instructive professional norms of engineering management undergraduate is a national quality standard to regulate the teaching of undergraduate and talent cultivation, guiding the construction of engineering management specialty. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction assigned the engineering management specialty steering committee to make the norms. With the effort of the committee and several universities and colleges, it was completed in September 2014 after extensive investigations which adopted new fruits of teaching research and different opinions. It contains seven sections and three attachments, which regulates engineering management undergraduate education from the discipline basis, the training target, the training standard, teaching contents, the course system and basic teaching conditions. It specifies basic theories, skills, and abilities which should be mastered by engineering management undergraduates. The instructive professional norms can be a reference for the construction and development of engineering management specialty.

Abstract:The “talent training adapting to the market” has an important influence and impetus on the setting of specialties and the curriculum system in higher education. To meet the development of city construction, a new specialty, urban underground space engineering, was established, and its curriculum system had attracted much attention. In the process of application and construction of the specialty, we took the EU advanced tuning theory for a reference, used the ability point evaluation method, and established a new curriculum system combining with qualitative and quantitative methods. It can be a reference for optimizing the curriculum system construction and establishing curriculum system for new specialties.

Abstract:Human geography and urban-rural planning is a new specialty constructed by the Ministry of Education. By analyzing the documents of the Ministry of Education and the social demands of professional talents, the basic properties of human geography and urban-rural planning major were summarized. Combined with the subject characteristics of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the cross field between geography and information science was explored, the specialty orientation was discussed, and not only the construction principles but also the core framework of curriculum system were proposed.

Abstract:Problems existing in teaching were pointed out and a new method of teaching was proposed taking dynamic consolidation of foundation treatment as an example. Teacher guidance, independent study and case teaching method were included in the new teaching method. The main part in teaching was changed from teachers to students. Students’ learning interests were aroused and they can participate in teaching by the guidance of teachers. In the link of case teaching, students can use their knowledge in project cases. Abstract:We discussed a diversified teaching method in structural dynamics course. By introducing the ANSYS numerical experiment applied on a three-dimensional frame structure, the process method of ground motion acceleration records and the field test of obtaining structure’s dynamic characteristics, we presented a method of improving the classroom effect and practice activities. The research shows that the diversified teaching method, in which a series of classroom teaching methods are used and a field test is practiced, can effectively motivate students, help them understand the corresponding theory concepts, and improve their innovation ability simultaneously.

Abstract:With the appearance of complex project structures and large numbers of mega-structure, it is particularly urgent for the civil and hydro-power engineering undergraduates to strengthen the structure analysis capabilities (including computerized ability) training. We organically combined the matrix displacement method of the structural mechanics with the finite element method of the elasticity, built the course of finite element method in structural analysis in accordance with the demand of innovative advanced expertise training, and prepared and published the textbook and computer programs with C language carefully. Some teaching reforms were carried out according to the characteristics of the curriculum from aspects of classroom instruction, hands-on practice, teaching, and examinations so as to develop the leading role of teachers and students, which had achieved a good teaching effect.

Abstract:Based on teachers’ research program, the implementation path and methods of promoting teaching with scientific research in civil engineering materials course teaching were discussed. Scientific research thinking and engineering cases were used to inspire students, cultivating their scientific thinking and innovation consciousness; the scientific research activities provided practice opportunities for teachers and students, training their engineering quality and innovation ability; and the scientific research achievements enriched the teaching content, broadening students’ cognitive domain and thinking space. Five-year practice shows that promoting teaching with scientific research is an effective way to cultivate engineering application-oriented talents, which can promote both research and teaching, and can promote the development of teachers and students.

Abstract:The environment design specialty objectively needs an inclusive framework on its theories and teaching contents because it is a cross-discipline major that links art to science. It can integrate multidisciplinary work and multi scale environmental construction from a basic level. Based on the comments of pattern language theory that combined with behaviors, phenomenology, linguistics and structuralism, the following teaching thinking is presented. 1) With the structured environment derived from the theory of a pattern language, the teaching content can be a structured process which meets the comprehensive demands of project-based teaching; 2) with the observation method of a pattern language, a design approach called experience on sit based on phenomenology should be adapted; and 3) from the existing pattern language to creating new ones, a teaching consideration is presented which encourages creativity from former language imitation.

Abstract:We analyzed the main problems that exist in the writing process of the scientific English for non-English major postgraduates in natural science fields, established a training mode for improving the English writing ability of non-English major postgraduates, and elaborated three main links in training mode in detail, including the accumulation of professional vocabularies and sentence patterns, the cognition of structure and expression of the scientific English paper, and the conciseness of research contents. The practical results indicate that the training mode is feasible and very fruitful for the development of talent training mechanism of modern university system and improvement of the scientific English writing ability, and can be applied in the training of writing ability for non-English major postgraduates.

Abstract:The load input and combination of graduation design of civil engineering should be based on the load code for the design of building structures. Adjustment for the graduation design of civil engineering should be made according to the revised content of load code for the design of building structures version 2012. We introduced the revision background of the new code, and summarized the main revised code contents which had connections with the graduation design. Based on the new load code, we proposed the adjustment of the graduation design from the application conditions, structure types, and design data. It will contribute to the correct interpret of the load code for the design of building structures version 2012 by teachers and student of civil engineering.

Abstract:As a part of compulsory courses for junior and senior students majored in urban planning, the urban investigation takes the core position of practical courses and has the characteristic of cross-academic-year series of courses. The teaching process is mainly based on social investigation of students and is different from traditional courses mainly concerned with classroom-teaching. We focused on the exploration and practice of teaching reform, adjusted and perfected the teaching system and course contents, specified the direction and methods of cultivating students’ values and abilities, introduced the student-centered constructive teaching attitude and several constructive teaching modes “adapted to different stages of teaching process”, and explored and formed a scientific and effective system of process monitoring and achievement evaluation. Abstract:In the teaching of tall building structure design for undergraduates of civil engineering, we found that an example about wind load in the textbook does not calculated correctly according to the “Load code for the design of building structures” at that time. When the example was assigned to students as an exercise, most students found the problem and corrected errors. Furthermore, a student put forward a new idea to calculate wind load from the example. It is a typical instance to learn from the students, which shows that teaching benefits teachers as well as students.

Abstract:By directing the training programs of innovation and entrepreneurship for undergraduates, a pavement surface damage recognition software based on image processing technology was developed. Field experiments were carried out and pavement digital image distortion correction procedures were established. A simulating education platform based on image recognition technology was developed. The simulation education platform included three parts, which were the field experiments, the image processing, and the result processing. It can provide opportunities to undergraduates to practice independently, which can help them to master the theoretical knowledge better and learn necessary practical skills of work. The simulation education platform had advanced technology and multiple functions, which was an excellent example of transforming the scientific research achievements to the educational tool. It also reflected the requirements of excellent engineer education.
