Abstract:According to the current situation of talent lacking in the whole industrial chain of civil engineering industry, we presented suggestions for engineering practice, professional education and systematic thinking in a life-cycle view from aspects of life-cycle theories, approaches and applications. By improving the curriculum system and promoting the graduation design to meet industry needs, we improved the teaching quality of civil engineering specialty to cultivate multi-skilled civil engineering talents for the whole industrial chain.

Abstract:Under the engineering background in the new age, improving the talent training plan and constructing a corresponding course system are the foundation for talent training of civil engineering specialty. Abstract:According to characteristics of urban and rural planning specialty, we discussed on curriculum system construction of urban and rural planning specialty from aspects of principles, training objectives, knowledge, ability, and quality in the point-axis-net framework. We thought that knowledge, ability, and quality should be an organic system to enhance students' ability and meet the social demand for urban and rural planning talents.

Abstract:Urban and rural planning tends to be multi-disciplinary, multi-level and multi-field. The planner should be integrated with humanities quality, professional morality and engineering practice to meet the social needs and has solid basic theories, strong social responsibilities, correct values, and practical and innovative abilities. I analyzed existing problems in urban and rural planning education, such as lacking humanities quality education, professional moral fallen, poor engineering practice ability, abnormality of outlook on life, and values deformity. Based on discussion of the connotation of humanities quality, professional morality and engineering practice, I proposed a MHP-CDIO teaching mode of urban and rural planning with the reference of international engineering education reform efforts, and analyzed the goal, design, implementation approaches and specific operations of the teaching mode.

Abstract:In the architectural education system of our country, specific requirements of vocational education and quality of architects are not clear. There is a gap between architectural education and professional quality training of architects and there are also some deficiencies in the current curriculum system. So it is difficult to meet requirements of the architectural design industry development. Based on basic qualities and professional qualities of architects, we studied the teaching of architecture in the background of vocational education from three aspects: cultivation of practical innovation ability, inspiration of the human artistic thought and establishment of social responsibility.

Abstract:Engineering talent cultivation is the main body of higher education. Whether engineering talents cultivated by colleges and universities have engineering practical ability or not depends not only on teachers' systematic education but also on the degree of enterprises' involvement in students' professional education. In the teaching process, the enterprise can deeply join in cultivation plan formulation, theoretical teaching, practical teaching and cultivation of innovative ability. We discussed the current situation that there were no channels, mechanism, motivation and necessary funds for the enterprise to deeply participate in engineering talent cultivation, and proposed that universities, enterprises, and the country should jointly solve the problems, which would be a reference for the civil engineering education.

Abstract:At present, college acts as the main body of the civil engineering professional education, and the content of professional courses emphasis on theoretical knowledge. This mechanism is no longer suitable for the current employment environment and industry trends. The college should take the initiative to explore new educational mechanism to adapt to the social and economic development. We pointed out the positive significance of college-enterprise cooperation education mechanism, and discussed measures of practicing the mechanism, which included the enterprise participating in developing the training plan, the college and the enterprise establishing practice bases together, technical staff participating in course teaching, and personnel exchange between the college and the enterprise. The practice result shows that the measures are effective, which are beneficial attempts of educational mechanism innovation.

Abstract:The university-enterprise cooperation training mode for professional degree postgraduates aims to cultivate high-level application-oriented talents. Abstract:As a professional basic course of traffic engineering major in Civil Aviation University of China, soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering includes soil mechanics features and foundation design, which lays a foundation to the study of follow-up professional courses of airport engineering specialty. Based on the teaching experience, the knowledge of civil aviation airport engineering was integrated into the teaching content. The civil aviation teaching mode of this course based on airport industry was discussed. The positive influence of the professional extension of teaching content, interactive teaching methods and ganged assessment mechanism of course to the teaching effect was studied. Then, optimization suggestions of civil aviation teaching methods were proposed.

Abstract:Based on the experience of "Higher Education Cup" competition, we analyzed the methods of using discipline competition to promote teaching reform on bridge engineering course. Characteristics of "Higher Education Cup" competition were introduced. The existing problems of bridge engineering courses were analyzed from aspects of teaching mode, teaching material selection and laboratory construction. Specific measures of bridge engineering course reform were proposed including the combination of media teaching and traditional teaching, focusing on the connection between relevant professional knowledge, setting up interactive links of the teaching course, participating in the model, developing the construction plan and establishing the open laboratory. The practice shows that the reform of the course teaching mode can promote students' learning interest and improve their innovative practical ability.

Abstract:Building environment is a course with a wide range of contents and a large amount of information. The key issue of this course is to make students clarify the relationship between occupants and building environments. With reconsideration of knowledge points in textbooks, we proposed a novel teaching approach from the perspective of occupants' demand and the function of buildings. Heat and humidity, air quality, and sound and light were focused on as three major parts in this course. From a view of occupants' demand for environment, we analyzed control parameter, evaluation index, and the influence of the environment on human beings, and the novel teaching approach was based on a people-oriented and environment construction idea to stimulate students' learning enthusiasm and interests, which provided a new way to strengthen the course teaching.

Abstract:Construction equipment and installation engineering quota and budget is an important course of engineering management major in China University of Mining and Technology. The course mainly includes the content of construction equipment installation and engineering cost. The main problems existed in current teaching are dichotomy between theory and practice, simple teaching methods, and poor teaching faculty. As a result, students' understanding of the curriculum content is poor and their examination results and the actual operation ability are not good. In view of the above problems, the teaching reform was carried out including the adjustment of curriculum content, introduction of case study and teaching methods, using a "one chapter, one practice" mode of practice teaching, and focusing on teachers' training. The results show that students' learning interest is improved, their practice and examination results are improved significantly, and their curriculum knowledge mastering and practical abilities are obviously enhanced.

Abstract:We reviewed the experiment performed by the first year teaching group in the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University in 2014 to improve the construction teaching work, and analyzed and concluded the teaching process, teaching content, teaching methods and teaching results. The result shows that adding into the teaching process a preparing part and basic practice items close to students' daily life experience can effectively improve the operability of the teaching contents, and increase connections between teaching procedures, thereby considerably improving the teaching effects.

Abstract:According to a series of problems that exist in the teaching of foundation treatment, and choosing the calculation of composite foundation bearing capacity as a case, we explored the reform of curriculum contents and teaching methods to improve the teaching quality. Based on the actual situation of the teaching of foundation treatment in Henan University of Science and Technology and characteristics of the course and the outline requirements, we researched on the teaching reform by means of integrating teaching contents, improving teaching methods, and enhancing the teacher-student interaction. Abstract:The sociology of disaster is an optional course for postgraduates majored in civil engineering of Tongji University. It is different from the traditional courses concerning engineering structures. The basic concepts and features of disaster, and the relationship between human and disaster are involved in the course. The main purpose of this course is to cultivate students' social view on disaster. Based on the teaching practice over ten years, we formed a teaching model with interactive discussions on different cases. Typical cases were presented in the class with interactive discussion. And the students were required to write papers on current hot events to give their own views. Based on further discussion in class, new teaching cases were formed to enrich the teaching content.

Abstract:Self-teaching course is an attempt to adapt to the modern educational concept, explore new teaching mode and cultivate students' self-teaching ability in Beijing University of Technology. We investigated and analyzed the self-teaching course demand of experimental class towards students in experimental class and ordinary class of traffic engineering of grade 2014, respectively. Based on the result analysis of teaching mode and teaching effect of self-teaching course in Beijing University of Technology, we analyzed and discussed the curriculum setting of self-teaching course based on the demand of students in traffic engineering experimental class. The results show that self-teaching course can meet the demand of students in traffic engineering experimental class and improve their professional ability.

Abstract:In the traditional civil engineering practice mode, students can only participate in the short process of the construction project, and obtain a little knowledge. The teacher and students are less interaction owing to the scatter practice places, and the management of practice process is also difficult. We introduced a real time sharing platform for the civil engineering major practice of the "Zan-xue network", which was based on the internet technology. Compared with the traditional practice management, the platform can mobilize students' initiative and enthusiasm, and also help teachers to manage and guide the practice in real time. The practice quality as well as results were significantly improved. Real time sharing platform of civil engineering major practice based on big data can become a new mode of practice management.

Abstract:It is necessary to reform the experiment teaching in universities if we want to cultivate students' creative thinking, innovation ability, observation ability and team coordination ability. Through the investigation and analysis of the current situation of laboratory using in teaching of building environment and energy application engineering in regional universities, I found out that universities focused on theoretical teaching rather than experimental teaching, the number of laboratory equipment was insufficient, and the location of the teaching laboratory was not reasonable. To cultivate students' spirit of innovation and engineering practice ability, the experiment teaching system of "one-four-four" should be constructed and improved, and effective ways for experimental teaching reform should be put forward as ensuring unchanged total amount of class hours. The practice result shows that it can cultivate students' scientific and technological innovation ability, and improve their engineering practice ability and comprehensive quality.

Abstract:The purpose of the experimental teaching reform of architectural physics course, which is set up for students majored in architecture, is to ensure students having theoretical and sensible understanding of building physical indexes, having thorough understanding of the causality between thermal environmental parameters and the results of building thermal environment, and being able to use them on building environment control practice. We introduced thoughts and practice about the exploratory experimental teaching reform named as "building thermal environmental parameters measuring and analysis of thermal comfort". We introduced the change from single parameter measuring to comprehensive thermal environmental parameters measuring and analysis and from experimental data analysis to the analysis and reconstruction of building thermal environment, and how the students design experiment scheme by themselves. Then we presented the procedure and results of the experimental teaching, as well as the further thoughts about it.

Abstract:Stability is a key and difficult point during the teaching of fundamentals of steel structure design. Taking the teaching of overall stability of axially loaded steel members as an example, we presented the key and difficult points during teaching, and discussed the methods of application of ANSYS software to aid the teaching. Abstract:With the development of computers, the visualization analysis can be conducted by the virtual reality technology of hydropower project engineering data set that has spatiotemporal characteristics. To apply this technology to the hydropower station teaching, a virtual simulation of power station in river channel can be established. Through the virtual simulation of hydropower engineering and equipment such as the hydro-junction, power plant and axial flow turbine, and the virtual simulation of the installation and maintenance of hydraulic turbine, the water resources and hydropower engineering simulation experiment was realized. In the teaching mode of open experiment, students were the main body and they were required to independently compose, design, finish and verify the virtual model. The teaching effect was remarkable and the new concept of engineering education can be implemented.
