Abstract:The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is taken as an example for studying the Australian higher education mode, the cultivating scheme, degree system, and specialty and curriculum setting of civil engineering discipline are analyzed and compared respectively. In the undergraduate education stage of UNSW, a cultivating mode named "wide scope and profound base" is adopted for the teaching activities of civil engineering specialty, along with the training mechanism of single and double bachelor degree. Compact course hours and credits always contribute to providing flexible and broad elective courses for the undergraduate students. In the postgraduate education stage of UNSW, there are two cultivating categories including the coursework program (master degree) and the research program (master and doctor degree). Students of coursework program may be awarded the master degree as they have completed specified courses and credits. Comparing with the coursework students, there have no credit requirements for the research students, but the high-quality thesis and innovative research works must be achieved by them in order to embody the training mode of "entry easy and exit strict".The comparative study of the engineering education mode of UNSW may help domestic colleges or universities promote the development of civil engineering discipline and outstanding engineers program.

Abstract:Double-center personnel training mode is a new teaching mode exerting both student's principal role and teacher's leading role. It's first created by college of civil and transportation engineering of Hohai University. It accords with whole idea of outcome-based education (OBE) and takes advantages of the traditional personnel training mode. Undergraduate teaching blue book series of civil engineering based on double-center personnel training mode is compiled by both teachers and students of Hohai University. It is the first in the national civil engineering and has been promoted and applied in more than 20 colleges and universities. It analyses and introduces development of this blue book series in detail, including five books:teaching guide, example of professional course teaching, competition strategy, teaching and educational administration work and professional course strategy. This paper is aimed at providing a reference for the realization of scientific and systematic personnel training and teaching administration management in colleges and universities.

Abstract:Workshop is a kind of new teaching modewhich emphasizes on strengthening students' abilities in a short term, and its essence is to help people complete some complex and challenging work by group pressure and effective guidance."The design of canopy based on origami art" is taken as an example, which is conducted by School of Civil Engineering of Southeast University and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. The paper illustrates the results and characteristics of this workshop in detail. By cross grouping of students from different countries, the teacher's professional guidance and the final display and communication of the works, this workshop explores the application of deployable structure in the architectural art and various lighting effects it can achieve. In addition, the realization of architectural form combining origami is discussed from the perspective of the structural design. Thestudents learn to seek innovation from the differences through this activity. Workshop provides some guides for exploring how to effectively build the abilities in the respects of innovation, design, cooperation, and intercultural communication of students.

Abstract:Based on the university-enterprise cooperation idea, an innovative talent training mode in Wenzhou University was explored and practiced. With the help of university-enterprise cooperation platform, the resources of the enterprise can be fully used and the enterprise can take part in the whole progress of the talent training. In this paper, some cases of the talent training in civil engineering were fully introduced, such as the design of talent training plan, the innovation of the class teaching, the direction of the graduation project and professional practiceetc, which can provide references and lessons for other homologous local universities based on the university-enterprise cooperation.

Abstract:BIM as a new technology leads the technology architecture revolution in the 21st Century, more and more BIM talents are needed by the industry, higher vocational colleges as the cradle of skilled professionals should seize the opportunity to accelerate the training of professional and technical personnel of the BIM. Based on the analysis of the current situation of the application of BIM at home and abroad in colleges and universities, puts forward three main problems which are the lack of knowledge, the weak basic work and the lack of professional teachers in the training process, aiming at the above problems there are four solutions which are strengthening the propaganda, improving the BIM foundation work, creating the "double-qualified teacher" team, holding regular contest four recommendations, in order to provide reference for training of BIM professional and technical personnel work in higher vocational colleges.

Abstract:As a rising education manor, the MOOC research is within the range of discovery. Abstract:Soil mechanics course has many questions such as laying particular stress on the theory of classroom teaching, teaching method is relatively simple and inflexible, and lack of practice characteristics in College of Water Resource Science and Engineering of Taiyuan University of Technology.Based on these questions, the comprehensive teaching reform methods of theory teaching, experimental teaching and course evaluation for soil mechanics are put forward, such as carrying out stereo class teaching to strengthen the theory course learning, innovating experiment teaching and open experiment management system to strengthen the link of practice, and implementing opening type evaluation system to stimulate the student positive thinking and active learning enthusiasm. At present, the implementation conditions of the teaching reform for soil mechanics can be guaranteed, and the reform has achieved initial success. In practice, the teaching system of the characteristics with water conservancy specialty will be gradually formed.

Abstract:According to the needs of course teaching reform of road survey and design,discovery learning method is introduced into teaching practice in the paper. Firstly, the connotation of discovery learning method is expounded. Then, the feasibility of applying to discovery learning method in the course teaching of road survey and design is analyzed in detail. Abstract:The teaching reform of heating ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) was brought out and practiced based on the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement and Operate) concept. Abstract:Under the development background of new urbanization in China, the role and status of urban and rural planning have witnessed continuous enhancement. In 2011, urban and rural planning specialty got independence from the second-class disciplines in architectonics and is promoted to be a first-class discipline. However, in practice, the architecture design teaching of urban and rural planning specialty still follows the teaching mode of traditional architectonics, thus failing to adapt to the development trend and demands of urban and rural planning discipline. Abstract:With the adjustment of undergraduate specialty directory of national ordinary higher school, the building facilities intelligent technology specialty was incorporated into the building environment and equipment engineering specialty in 2012, and the specialty name was adjusted as "building environment and energy applications engineering". Abstract:To improve the situation where the comprehensive specialty English is not normative in college education, this paper examines 10 major courses from building environment and energy engineering specialty in Guangzhou University, and works out the number of specified necessary vocabulary for each course by giving consideration to both importance of the course and teaching requirements and class hours for specialty English course. Scrupulous statistics, analysis and selection on corresponding well-known foreign English original course books or monographs and domestic standards in English version are carried out, and then 1056 words and 106 phrases were chosen as the normative vocabulary, among which 295 words were chosen as the core vocabulary which students should fully master. Statistical result shows that, for students who have grasped the normative vocabulary, the average new words will be within 3.59% among the English articles corresponding to professional course; for students who can extend the part of speech, the absolute new words can be controlled within 3%, where students can read smoothly without a dictionary.

Abstract:Based on English teaching practice of professional courses for international students in School of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering of Wuhan University, and the investigation and analysis of the learning present situation of the non-English international students, we discussed the teaching problems in professional courses. At the same time, we pertinently adjusted teaching contents and improved conventional teaching methods. The teaching practice in classes of Angola and Ecuador shows, the teaching adjustments are effective, which can be referenced by the other colleges in similar professional courses teaching practice of non-English speaking international students.

Vortex flow meter,pressure sensor and thermal couple are installed on the platform. Parameters such as heat exchange rate of exchanger,flow rate of cold(hot)water,circulation resistance of cold(hot)water side,temperatures of exits and entrances for cold(hot)water are gauged and these signals are collected by Agilent 34972A data logger.We take full advantage of available device and reduce expenditure of purchasing relevant equipment and promote teaching effect.

Abstract:The trend of web assistant teaching is becoming inevitable along with the rapid development and popularization of computer network technology and terminal equipment. However, it exposed some problems in the procession of teaching website construction such as the assistant role of teaching websites are not realized definitely, the content of the websites are not matched with the class teaching, and the website are too complicated to construct and maintain. Based on the discussion of the positioning and the construction target of the specialized core course teaching website in university, this paper set up a mode laided teaching website for science and engineering professional basic course combined with the teaching practice of architectural mechanics in Guangzhou University. The content of the website covers basic courses information, teaching resources sharing, expand resource promoting and teaching forum. Especially, the construction of teaching forum opened up an on-line interactive platform for teachers and students, which can solve the incompatibility between the office hours of teachers and the after-class study time efficiently. Actually, the question answering of the teacher and the discussion between students have very important positive significance in arousing learning interest, promoting deeper understanding of related mechanical problems, and eventually, improving the quality of teaching. The established architectural mechanics website are applied in assistant teaching in Guangzhou University and obtained significant achievement.

Abstract:In this paper, from paperless examination about structural mechanics curriculum, online answer and computer evaluation difficulties about subjective examination questions are analyzed. Program method about guided subjective examination questions and automatic evaluation is proposed. In the VB software platform, with diagram multiplication method computing structure displacement problem, subjective questions online interactive answer and score evaluation mechanism about structural mechanics are described and practical examples are given. Online answer and automatic evaluation result about examination paper include statically determinate bending moment diagram, diagram multiplication method,statically indeterminate structure force method and displacement method, structure inherent characteristics are listed. The method will be provided for paperless examination of mechanical engineering courses.

Abstract:We apply content analysis to analyze the articles collected in CNKI which focus on performance evaluation of Chinese colleges and universities, from content distribution, year distribution, source journals, authors, evaluation methods and other aspects. Present research state and problems in domestic academy are discussed. Abstract:With the in-depth reform of higher education, many local universities have proposed the establishment of archives based on document rooms for exploring the long-term development of the archival undertaking. However, most local universities have many problems in file managements, such as weak foundation, incomplete system and mechanism, weak management awareness, backward informatization, and so on. Based on the above situation, this paper takes a case study on Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture by combining the theoretical basis of functions, development target and ideas of university archives with practical implementation reasonably and prospectively, striving to build archives integrating information source center, information accessing service center, editorial and research development center, electronic file center, publicity and education center into one. This paper will discuss new innovative path to university archive establishment and management from the perspectives of concept, management mechanism, system management standardization, team talent establishment, information means, archive service and the like.

Abstract:In order to explore the characteristics of college students' attitude toward the "China dream", this study conducted a questionnaire survey of 679 college students from 9 universities in Chongqing.The results showed that on the whole, college students'"China dream" evaluation is at a higher level. That means have a high degree of recognition.The different types of students on the level of "China dream" evaluation exist significant difference,college students have a positive and optimistic attitude to the implementation of "China dream", but that need to overcome some obstacles. For the realization of their dreams, the college students think that depends on individual effort and will. In view of the above characteristics, this study puts forward the relevant countermeasures and suggestions in order to promote the realization of "China dream" better.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of low engineering literacy of some youth teachers of civil engineering specialty, the connotation of engineering literacy is described, and the present situation of youth teachers group working is introduced. The reasons of low engineering literacy of some youth teachers are analyzed from three aspects, such as the source of youth teachers, the rules and regulations of colleges and universities, and the main goals of enterprises. The necessity of developing youth teachers' engineering literacy is emphasized according to the engineering education development trend in China and other foreign countries, and the requirements of colleges and universities duties of service to the community. By the four roles "governments, colleges and universities, enterprises and youth teachers" linkage mode, long-term mechanism for the developing youth teachers' engineering literacy is advised, which is composed of the macroscopical policies and fiscal supports from governments, and the preferential policies in colleges and universities, including recruitment, achievement assessment, professional titles evaluation, selection and promotion of outstanding teachers, training ways, financial support, engineering literacy evaluation system and inspection, in additional, cooperation of "complementary advantages, mutual benefits, winning together" between enterprises and youth teachers should be carried out. At last, the effective measures and excellent achievements of developing youth teachers' engineering literacy in School of Civil Engineering of Guangzhou University are introduced as an example, which provide references for the relative colleges and universities.
