Abstract:With the help of NVivo 8.0 in managing and coding original resources, this paper adopts original interview data. By using qualitative analysis method based on the Grounded Theory, the paper concludes three factors of science and engineering university students' cognition about humanistic quality, including humanistic spirit, humanistic thought and humanistic methods. The cognition of humanistic quality of the students reflects their reflection and demand of humanistic quality. However, reflecting on the present concept of humanistic quality education of science and engineering students, it's lost many core contents of humanistic quality. During the humanistic quality education reform process, we must first make up these lost humanistic quality education concepts. This study is "student-oriented", standing on the demand side of humanistic quality education to do research, which is important for supply-side reform of humanistic quality education.

Abstract:This paper analyses the development of general education in Taiwan universities of applied sciences, and the basic features of the general education is definite. The concept of general education reflects the value orientation of holistic education. In terms of the management of general education, there are specialized management institutions and perfect management systems. General education in Taiwan has formed a relatively complete system from the value, to the content and management.

Abstract:According to the guideline of local colleges and universities in transitioning to applied technology, for practical application, constructing and continuously optimizing and practicing corresponding teaching platform have become the major direction of teaching reform in architecture. Driven by the effective management measures, our school gradually forms a practical platform construction strategy based on students, teachers and overall promotion, and optimizes and perfects the teaching platform in the dynamic operation. Abstract:By the analysis of the training mode of construction management education and the characteristics of BIM teaching, a multistage and multilevel training system of BIM is constructed. Through introducing the concept of the core of teaching, strengthen the combination of a variety of teaching methods to improve and keep track of the different stages, strengthen personnel training effect. According to the society demand for BIM, the training system is divided to the popular, advanced and high-end level, and the training requirements at different levels will be determined, in order to construct BIM training system of construction management major. It has been put into practice and has achieved good effect.

Abstract:At present, the demand of innovative talents in hydraulic engineering is urgently large due to rapid development of national economy and society. Thus, it is of great significance for advanced water conservancy colleges to explore effective channels to cultivate top-notch innovative talents. The successful experiences of talents cultivation of the well-known foreign universities are worth learning, but the applicability of foreign experiences to the talents cultivation in our country should be cautiously taken into account because of the mutual differences in cultural atmospheres and teaching backgrounds. A new hydraulic engineering talents cultivation channel that comprises of the disciplines collocation, interaction between teachers and students, international linkage and cooperation between universities and enterprises is presented in this paper. The proposed cultivation channel can make full use of the current teaching resources and is expected to cultivate more top-notch innovative talents for hydraulic engineering construction.

Abstract:With the rapid development of infrastructure construction in China, a lot of high-level professionals with a certain amount of theory and practical experience are in urgent needed, who are the full-time professional masters of architecture and civil engineering. At present, however, the postgraduate training system of architecture and civil engineering still has many deficiencies due to starting late in China. To address this gap, this study collected the existing training systems of full-time professional master of architecture and civil engineering in Guangdong province, and then analyzed their characteristics. Combining the development trends with the existing research achievements on postgraduate education of civil engineering, some reform proposals on training objectives, training modes, and curriculum and evaluation standards were presented, in order to improve China's cultivation system of full-time professional master of architecture and civil engineering.

Abstract:Based on the comparison of civil engineering masters education system in four typical universities from China and the United States,this paper deeply analyzes the education system's differences between two countries. The aspects of academic system, cultivation targets and procedure, curriculum provision and degree thesis requirements are discussed. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of each cultivation system are also summarized and hopefully this may provide references for future reforms of domestic master cultivation system as well as the exploration of Chinese-foreign joint cultivation mode.

Abstract:There are numbers of construction projects annually in China, owing to the rapid development of the country. Each civil engineering project has various risk factors. Recognizing the risk in advance, estimating the level of the risk factors, taking proper measurements to lower bad impacts and monitoring risk factors during the whole period of the project, are four role steps in risk management, which prevent projects from internal or external interference. The article compares the course of risk estimation and management in Tongji University, with courses related to risk management in other six universities, including Imperial College, UC Berkeley, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Kyoto University and Tsinghua University. The author analyzes the arrangements, contents, teaching methods and assessments of these curriculums, and proposes a teaching reformation scheme for Tongji University.

Abstract:Based on the teaching reform of the park design course of urban planning specialty in Guizhou University, the current situation and reform methods are discussed in this paper. The reform effect is researched by observation, interview and questionnaire survey. The practice has proved that the reform in the education of the park design is positive in establishing the landscape architecture knowledge system, improving the quality of design education and cultivating new type of urban planning students.

Abstract:Some problems of traditional teaching model in road survey and design course are of frequent occurrence. On the basis of analyzing the characteristics and applicability of the project teaching method, project-based teaching reform are studied according to integrated thinking of teaching, learning and practice. In the present paper, project task aimed to knowledge aims and ability aims of the road survey and design course are proposed, and the corresponding course organization system and assessment mode are established. The practice proved that the project-based teaching reform can train hands-on ability and innovation ability; enhance the impression to understanding and comprehensive use of the learned knowledge. The teaching reform can be accepted by most students.

Abstract:The course of fundamental principles of reinforced concrete is a core curriculum in civil engineering major. Its basic characteristics include semi-empirical theories, mechanical analysis and model based on experiments, and design method related to current codes. In order to adapt with those features, the old teaching method which is principally based on classroom teaching and experimental demonstrations should be replaced by a new one. Based on the requirement of the building of State Educational Resource Sharing Courses, the computer technology is introduced into the classroom teaching. The new teaching method encourages students to write programs about the basic members. It results in the deepen understanding of designing theory, designing method, and the corresponding requirements in design code. The method helps to train students' ability of cooperation and dealing with the real engineering.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of the bilingual courses of concrete structure fundamentals, in conjunction with the teaching practice of Zhengzhou University and other related colleges and universities, the bilingual teaching material selection and the teaching method reform were studied. English teaching materials must base on Chinese code recommended. According to the different levels in both English and Chinese, the different forms of teaching methods in stages were presented. Finally, considering the English textbook will be disconnected during the specification update, the dynamic adjustment reform methods and measures of teaching method were proposed.

Abstract:Montessori education methodology is applied to the education of undergraduate students. The outside environmental stimulations are properly used to develop the potential inner eagerness of a student for learning. Combination of Montessori idea and undergraduate engineering course education gives a lecturing methodology for technology universities. This method is that the lecturer proposes interesting questions at the beginning of a content teaching with the aid of light humors. This method is applied to the course of gas engineering, core course of building environment and energy engineering. It is approved that this method conveys science and technical technologies to students in a light and effective way. The education results are satisfactory.

Abstract:As an important carrier of higher education, textbooks play an important role in improving the teaching quality and cultivating excellent professional talents. In this paper, we summarize the evolution process of the bridge engineering textbooks from four aspects, such as the order of publication time, the applicable bridge function, the applicable length of course duration and the press. The research shows that the bridge engineering textbooks can be roughly divided into four stages according to their publication time in the 157 related bridge engineering textbooks that we collected, which are unified compile firstly, then respective compile and thirdly unified compile, finally respective compile. Among these bridge engineering textbooks collected, the number of textbooks for highway bridge is more than railway bridge, and most of them are suitable for medium course. These bridge engineering textbooks were mainly published by China Communication Press and China Railway Publishing House. At last, the existing problems of the bridge engineering textbooks and some corresponding suggestion about its development are also proposed.

Abstract:Globalization requires Chinese civil engineering program to tune towards internationalization. It is an effective approach to improve the internationalization of Chinese civil engineering program by getting international professional accreditation. This paper briefly introduces the current international accreditation situation of Chinese civil engineering program as well as professional accreditation requirements from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), USA. The method for curriculum file archive, one of the critical preparations for ABET accreditation, was studied. The detailed curriculum file archival requirements for ABET accreditation were discussed and some related suggestions were proposed subsequently. Based on seismic design of building structures course in College of Civil Engineering of Tongji University, a typical sample of curriculum document archives according to the ABET requirements were demonstrated.

Abstract:National Structural Design Contest for College Students is the highest-level discipline contest for learners of Civil Engineering, which aims to cultivate and enhance their innovative spirit, group consciousness and practical abilities. Compared with previous contests, the 10th National Structural Design Contest for College Students paid more attention to hardness and softness, limitation on mid-span deflection except its previous request on sufficient capacity. Based on the grand prize work of the 10th National Structural Design Contest for College Students, this thesis mainly makes an analysis on its choice of structural styles, and optimization methods of structure. The study of structural design and optimization methods of the grand prize work in this thesis may provide some reference value for structural design contest in the future.

Abstract:Based on the current situation of CAD course teaching in applied universities and characteristics of "flipped classroom", combining with the task-driven teaching method, the research of application in "flipped classroom" teaching is carried out from three aspects which are micro class learning, classroom teaching and after-class feedback, it reforms the student assessment system to enhance student's subjective initiative in learning, and the incentive mechanism will also be improved to encourage teachers to improve the quality of micro class. The teaching reform for courses will be done around the mode of "flipped classroom" to help students adopt the engineering thinking that highlights the combination of theory and practice. As a result, students can more effectively study to lay a good foundation for future efforts on major core curriculums, which can provide references to the "flipped classroom" for other major courses in civil engineering major.

Abstract:The cultivation of innovative talents of science and technology in colleges and universities is an important and long-term goal of quality education. It is also the necessary and basic requirements to strengthen the comprehensive quality education of college students. This paper analyzes the current situation of the cultivating innovation ability of undergraduates in traffic engineering of Beijing University of Technology. Based on a questionnaire survey, the situation and existing problems of cultivating innovation ability of undergraduates in traffic engineering is proposed. Some suggestions on promoting scientific and technological innovation ability of undergraduates have been come up with from the aspects of the environmental construction of scientific and technological innovation platform, multiple tutorial systems etc. The research conclusion has certain reference for the cultivation of innovative talents in traffic engineering.

Abstract:The education of BIM information technology has become a research hotspot in architectural universities. This paper takes BIM information technology application as education innovation of architectural universities, and makes a research of the BIM revulsion mechanism in four aspects:education technical support, innovative resources network, teachers' teaching ability and absorptive capacity of students, 24 induction factors are taken into consideration. The system dynamics (Vensim) is used to reveal the inter-relationships among those factors. Results indicate that the education technical support and innovative resources network are the basis of promoting BIM information technology education innovative behavior, teachers' teaching ability is the key to carry out the BIM information technology education innovative behavior, the absorptive capacity of students is the focus of BIM information technology education innovative behavior. This study provides guidance for improving the BIM information technology innovation.

Abstract:The main course of engineering manage men is engineering structure,but it is difficult for students to learn and master the professional knowledge,because of its abstract content, complex formula, obscure and difficult knowledge. Aiming at the teaching difficulties, based on BIM technology, points out the teaching method how to display engineering structural components of the relationship of random combination morphology and component and engineering structure under load transfer path, mechanical behavior and failure mechanism of the new teaching method effectively. According to the effect of these new methods in engineering structure in the course teaching, giving three suggestions on how to apply the BIM technology into the teaching, improves the teaching level of engineering structure teaching, which is accelerating the ideological transformation, building BIM laboratory based on engineering structure and developed engineering structure teaching materials based on BIM technology.

Abstract:With R&D funding allocation of resources in the colleges and universities of 31 provinces and regions, this study make a qualitative analysis from four aspects:R&D funding scale, intensity, the structure of the source and the expenditure structure. The result shows that there is a big difference between the R&D funds distribution, investment and spending of 31 provinces and regions. On the whole, the R&D expenditure is insufficient and intensity is low; uneven distribution of the eastern and western universities; funds mainly come from the government; and the proportion of expenditure in basic research is too low. In view of the above problems, the study will propose countermeasures and suggestions from the government, universities and foreign advanced experience.

Abstract:The integration development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei provides a golden take-off opportunity for the development of Hebei Province, and also puts forward higher requirements of talents training to construct the foundation of economic strong province. Thus, human resource is needed to build a beautiful and economy Hebei Province. Though Hebei Province is a large higher education place, it does not have an advantage on higher education. Therefore, improving the quality of talent training is both the demands of servicing the economy society development and the need of rapid promotion of higher education itself. In this case, the research approaches and basic principles of college students' key competencies are analyzed, the architectures of college students' key competencies are put forward in Hebei Province, and some insights are listed for improving the quality of college students' key competencies.
