Abstract:The development and construction of emerging engineering is a hot issue in the field of higher engineering education reform in China. Based on the perspective of literature review, starting from the logical starting point of clarification research, this paper discusses the stage divisions of the development and construction of emerging engineering. Meanwhile, to understand the status quo of China's new engineering thought and construction research, this paper constructs the integrated framework of China's new engineering thought and construction path from three aspects:the paradigm shift of emerging engineering construction,the connotation characteristics of emerging engineering, emerging engineering construction and development path selection, which provides reference for promoting the research of emerging engineering construction in China.

Abstract:Under the background of the emerging engineering education, the civil engineering faces the problem of reform and upgrading from traditional engineering to the new civil engineering. Based on the development trend of civil engineering industry at home and abroad, this article discusses how the traditional civil engineering will transform and upgrade to the new civil engineering, and applies the OBE education concept to the upgrading of civil engineering in the new civil engineering, and to reform and improve the research and practice of civil engineering talent training programs facing emerging engineering education. The research content includes the establishment of the "school of intelligent architecture" by schools and enterprises; the establishment of personnel training goals and graduation requirements for emerging engineering education; the internet plus, cloud computing, big data, intelligentization, virtual reality and other information technologies and intelligent technologies, especially a multidisciplinary curriculum system by use of BIM technology was set up, a multi-discipline integrated smart building simulation experiment center was established and a "3+1" school-enterprise cooperation education platform was built to achieve the connotative development of the new civil engineering under the emerging engineering education background, it is of great significance for cultivating new talents of intelligent architecture that facing the future.

Abstract:As China's economic restructuring and development have entered a new normal phase, the speed of urbanization in our country has gone from high speed to medium and high speed, the urban planning has entered from simple increment to optimized stock, and urban construction has entered from living space to the composite space stage. Urban planning professionals trained by the traditional teaching system of material planning based on architecture and urban design have shown a mismatch with this change. Taking the experience of running a city in urban and rural planning in Chongqing Normal University for example for nearly ten years as an example, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the teaching of urban and rural planning major in our university with reference to the teaching reform in many urban and rural planning colleges in China. Graduates employment advantages gradually weakened, how to build a scientific system of disciplines, to create local specialty characteristics, the implementation of effective teaching reform.

Abstract:The purpose was to meet enterprise and public institution demand, showed the school characteristics and to understand basic construction present situation and demand of talent in southeast of Guizhou, the civil engineering construction present situation and demand of talent. The research group investigated 66 companies, government departments and public institutions. The knowledge of original professional and technical personnel can't keep up with times development. The high level of civil engineering and professional registration of technical personnel' demand is big. Water conservancy and hydropower, urban and rural planning, road and bridge and other professionals lack in the market. So, Kaili University should change from professional construction, personnel training, curriculum setting, laboratory construction, practice teaching and so on. And ultimately cultivating innovative ability and engineering practice ability of high-quality application of civil engineering talents for employer.

Abstract:The practice of cultivating and selecting innovative talents about the link of high school and university in Chongqing is systematically analyzed in this paper. Based on the theory of all-round development, through the empirical analysis of the link of high school and university activities in Chongqing University, this article summarizes the three levels and two combinations (TLTC) adolescent innovative talents cultivation and selection modes and ways. Abstract:First, this paper made theoretical analysis on comparative study of course teaching for the postgraduate student, studied the meaning of course teaching of the postgraduate student, defined three dimensions:the dimension of interested parties, the dimension of objects, and the dimension of mode, and set the subdivision of each dimension. On this basis, through the comprehensive comparative study of course teaching of the postgraduate student of real estate investment course between Beijing Jiaotong University and University of Cincinnati, including the comparison of teaching effects, gained some enlightenments of course teaching of the postgraduate student of real estate investment course from the University of Cincinnati. Finally, this paper gave some suggestions to the teachers and managers.

Abstract:This paper presents a detailed discussion on the foster scheme and education ideology of the "Integrated Design of Sustainable Engineering Systems" module developed at Newcastle University, UK. By comparing with a typical integrated design module carried out in China, the differences in module aim, content, and assessment strategy are discussed in detail. Some suggestions are finally proposed to facilitate the development and improvement of our integrated design courses in China.

Abstract:Under the introduction of field theory during architecture postgraduate cultural heritage conservation course, this course was divided into three parts, namely basic theory, case study and practical training. In addition to the traditional learning on basic theory, this course emphasizes on case study and practical training. Meanwhile, put forward ‘education field’ mode through the interaction between ‘teach’ and ‘guide’. This course teaching mode was transformed from ‘teachers’ teaching as the main teaching method to ‘teachers’ guiding as an experiential research which can obtain different information resources from different ways. This model is based on the unique characteristics of cultural heritage conservation as a diversity and cross-disciplinary course, aiming to broaden the horizons of cultural heritage conservation teaching, comprehensively expand the teaching time and spatial scale, and to connect with practice to improve students' participation, in order to make cultural heritage conservation courses become more open and professional as well as train high-quality talents to adapt to diversified development.

Abstract:Based on the times requirement of architectural bachelor, with the open-ended and co-teaching mode which is practiced for years, the paper introduces a new idea, contents and methods for senior architectural course construction. According to systemic theory, by the methods of factor hierarchy analysis, system composite construction and course association construction etc, the ability frame, which includes comprehensive analysis, innovative design, cooperation, communication and presentation, plays a guiding role, the course system with contents is formed by the professional teaching mainline, and presents the characteristic of Chinese-foreign jointed and research-teaching combined. Finally, a special teaching organization mode is introduced for training the architectural holistic thinking of students, the teaching method and measure, which is integrated into the internet and information technology, will be multi-interactive.

Abstract:Recently, timber structures are getting into rapid development stage in China and the researches and applications on timber structures are rapidly growing. While the professional technicians who are familiar with researches and design of timber structures are urgently lacking, restricts the development of timber structures in China. Several specific problems on course teaching of timber structures in China were analyzed and explored based on the current teaching status of timber structures and the talent requirements of timber structure technique. Some reforming measures were proposed from several aspects including cooperative teaching, teaching methods, professional competition and graduation projects aiming to obtain good teaching efficiency so that the talents specializing in timber structures can adapt themselves to the development of modern timber structures.

Abstract:There are many shortcomings in the traditional teaching mode of hydraulic engineering drawing, which make it difficult to meet the practical needs of cultivating a large number of hydraulic talents that possess high-level engineering reading and drawing abilities. This paper aims to improve the current curriculum system of hydraulic engineering drawing and propose a new curriculum teaching mode of hydraulic engineering drawing. The proposed teaching mode comprising of reasonable design of curriculum system, deepening understanding with in-class practices, exercising capacities with extracurricular practices, strengthening basic theories with cognition practices and transforming idea in the curriculum examination is presented step by step. A series of implementation measures are also given. It is expected that the proposed teaching mode can effectively enhance the abilities of students in reading and drawing the hydraulic engineering drawings.

Abstract:In this paper, the characteristics of finite element method course and the current situation of postgraduate teaching were summarized, and the reason were analyzed why the teaching effect is not good for a long time related this course. Based on case teaching theory, the teaching method of finite element method guided by case was introduced. Three typical engineering cases were discussed in detail, which were used to explain its implementation steps and methods. Finally, the effect was evaluated with the results of the past three years. The results show that the model in which science problem was discovered by studying and thinking about the case, students proposed solution by discussion, the program compute to test and verify of the results, can greatly improve the interest of students and get good effect.

Abstract:In order to improve the teaching effect of civil engineering materials course, the path and mode of teaching content reconstruction based on scientific research resources were explored. Taking the strength of cement concrete as an example, the teaching content is reconstructed with scientific research results, the students are encouraged by scientific thinking, and the competitiveness of students is trained by scientific research. Abstract:With the implementation of The Belt and Road, the desire of internationalization of higher education has accelerated the paces to construction of English courses for various disciplines, which also breeds opportunities and challenges for civil engineering contributing to the global major engineering projects. This paper conducts discussion on the current situation of soil mechanics and foundation engineering course construction and the existing problems based on the course characteristics. This paper points out that the construction of English course is necessary, and some suggestions are then provided from the aspects of course content, teaching handout, teaching approach, and assessing mode. It is highlighted that this course should focus on the explanation of fundamental theories of soil mechanics and the knowledge linkage between chapters. The use of ‘teach-yourself handout’ is proposed, and the level-based teaching and theory-based analyses are suggested, together with the combination of ‘rigid’ and ‘flexible’ assessing mode.

Abstract:A new construction practice mode of a group practicing in multiple sites is put forward in the paper. In this mode, the group conducts cross-site practice in the projects at different construction schedule within a limited practice time, the students can fully understand the whole construction stages of the foundation engineering, the main structure and decoration engineering, and some problems existed in the single site practice is solved; and at the meantime, the tutor of the construction project will guide the students in the whole practice, it will help the student quickly master the project overview and key construction technology. Moreover, the processes and characteristics of this group practice mode have been introduced, and a comparison analysis with the traditional scattered practice has been carried out in the paper. The practice study shows that the practice mode of group practicing in multiple sites is effective.

Abstract:The vulgar process management and formalistic assessment standard of the traditional practice teaching makes it a desiderative to improve its management mode. Tongji University takes the "Internet plus" as the driving force, through live broadcast, problem discussion, tracking attendance, questionnaires and other ways to explore and practice embedded teaching that both and out of classes. Abstract:Personal statement which can fully show comprehensive qualities of applicants has become one of the most important evidences to audit and judge the applicants for western universities. However, due to differences between Chinese and western cultures, domestic applicants have some misunderstandings in writing personal statements. This study utilized domestic university graduates who tend to further education abroad as well as enrollment representatives of universities of UK and US as the research objects. From perspective of western culture, this paper firstly summarized main problems of current domestic applicants in writing personal statements, furthermore, pointed out the problems that should be noticed during writing, and gave corresponding suggestions of writing upon the basis of interviews and questionnaires.

Abstract:With the rapid development of information technology, the virtual simulation technologies have been widely applied to various fields. Due to the limitations of traditional experimental teaching in money, laboratory space, instrument and manpower, the teaching and learning may be seriously affected. With the aid of virtual simulation technologies, however, these troubles can be removed or alleviated. With the virtual simulation experimental laboratory of civil engineering in Beijing Jiaotong University taken as an example, the virtual simulation experimental modules of soil mechanics were developed partially by the company and partially by ourselves. It is believed that by combining the virtual simulation experiments and the physical experiments, the limitations of traditional physical laboratory tests can be removed or alleviated. The combination of virtual simulation experiments and the physical experiments can improve the teaching and learning quality of civil engineering experiments.

Abstract:At present, "post-90s" college students mainly comprised by an only child have become the main body of college students with the development of the network information era.
