Abstract:The construction of Emerging Engineering Education is an important measure for China's higher engineering education to cope with the scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation brought by a new round of modern artificial intelligence and other technologies. The current construction industry is in a critical period of transformation, upgrading and modernization. The industry is in urgent need of a large number of innovative engineering management talents, so that traditional engineering management disciplines are facing various challenges and opportunities. On the basis of summarizing the current teaching situation and main problems of engineering management specialty, faced with the latest needs of the construction industry, the discipline characteristics, main training objectives, technical routes and main work under the program of Emerging Engineering Education were analyzed. And the measures of teaching reform were put forward from five aspects:interdisciplinary integration of professional curriculum setting and knowledge system optimization, professional teacher capacity building, innovation of teaching methods, improvement of teaching effect of professional and technical courses, construction of professional innovative teaching materials and resources and construction of innovative practice platforms. The aim is to improve the comprehensive quality and innovation ability of students majoring in engineering management by a large margin.

Abstract:Practice teaching is one of the important links in the cultivation of students in civil engineering. Under the background of "new engineering", its contents have new standards and requirements. This paper actively searches a new mode of practice teaching targeting at international competitions from the aspects of practical goal, innovation orientation, knowledge expansion, ability training and quality improvement, and some achievements have been achieved. The experience gained can provide reference for similar practice teaching in related institutions.

Abstract:Cultivating talents with both ability and virtue is the fundamental task of education. In view of the problems existing in the process of comprehensive evaluation of talents, an improved sequencing method is proposed. It is more intuitive, concise and easier to operate than the traditional scoring and sequencing method. Combining with the weight assignments, the improved sequencing method can be expanded to multi-factor comprehensive sequencing method. The scientificalness and effectiveness of the comprehensive evaluation model has been verified through more than ten years of exploration, practice and continuous improvement.

Abstract:In order to improve the training quality and competitiveness of applied safety engineering professionals in local colleges and universities, this paper analyzes the training mode of domestic and foreign safety engineering professionals and concludes that the industry characteristics are very important to the training of applied safety engineering professionals. Combining with the social needs and the characteristics of Xuzhou University of Technology as a local university, the training mode and curriculum system of safety engineering professionals with "one main line, two abilities, three levels, four platforms and five modules" are established, and corresponding assurance measures have been implemented, which ensure the comprehensive training of safety engineering professionals' knowledge, ability and quality. The exploration of the training mode of applied safety engineering professionals guided by the characteristics of the construction industry shows that the employment rate of graduates is 100% and the competitiveness index is 96%. It shows the feasibility and superiority of this mode and has a strong reference significance for the training of applied safety engineering professionals in local colleges and universities.

Abstract:Based on questionnaire survey for building environment and energy engineering graduates of Hunan University of Science and Technology, the society requirements for knowledge and skills of the graduates are known, problems about practice teaching, class teaching and experimental teaching are dissected, then measures to solve the above problems are proposed combining with reality. All of these are very important to improve the teaching effect and graduates satisfaction, and can provide reference for the revision or construction of teaching system to others colleges or universities.

Abstract:Collaborative education is a highlight of education reform and an important way to cultivate innovative talents in colleges and universities. The diversified collaborative education models for civil engineering specialty were explored under the guidance of the concept of collaborative education. The "four-level" collaborative education mode includes intra-school collaboration, school-enterprise cooperation, domestic and overseas collaboration, and domestic and international collaboration mode to realize the goal of diversified talents training. The "four-dimensional" practical teaching mode and the "multi-level" practical teaching platform were constructed, and the "multi-dimensional" teaching quality assurance system and the "double-subject and three-level communication" long-acting synergy mechanism were explored, to improve the quality of talents training in civil engineering.

Abstract:The postgraduate joint cultivation base is a practice platform for postgraduate students to train their practical and innovative abilities. This paper analyzes the present situation of postgraduate cultivation base jointed by industry-university-institute. Under the development of social demands, from the three aspects of functional positioning, service environment and participants, it discusses the connotation construction of joint cultivation base based on demand shifting. The vitality of the joint cultivation base should be fully stimulated, the needs of multiple participants should be met, and the joint cultivation base should make itself a "incubator" for the training of high-level talents urgently needed by the society. Based on the "demand-meet" structure framework, this paper puts forward a specialized, sustainable and multi-cooperation construction path of the joint cultivation base in view of the function demands, service demands and benefit demands.

Abstract:After joining the Washington Accord, Chinese engineering education certification is in line with American ABET certification. Graduation requirement achievement evaluation has become an important part of professional certification self-evaluation. For teachers, achievement degree evaluation is a new term, and it will become one of the routine teaching work in the future. Combining with the evaluation of graduation requirement attainment of civil engineering in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, this paper expounds the logical relationship between the degree of graduation requirement attainment and the degree of curriculum attainment, discusses the evaluation methods such as questionnaire survey and curriculum analysis and illustrates with practical examples, and compares the degree of graduation requirement attainment obtained by different evaluation methods. Finally, some thoughts are put forward and discussed with colleagues in order to construct the evaluation system more scientifically and rationally.

Abstract:The evaluation of graduation requirements achievement is an important part of engineering education certification, and it is the basis for promoting the optimization of curriculum system and continuous improvement of curriculum teaching. Aiming at the lack of evaluation mechanism for graduation requirements achievement in the current civil engineering professional certification, a set of quantifiable evaluation system was constructed. Based on the employment statistics of civil engineering students in the past three years and the statistics of job distribution of the recent five years' graduates, the training program for civil engineering professionals has been revised, and the training objectives that meet the students' development orientation have been established. The 12 graduation requirements were established, and the graduation requirements were further refined into 30 index points and 95 supporting courses. Taking weight coefficient, evaluation methods, evaluation period, evaluation criteria and evaluation results of the supporting courses as basic data, the index points evaluation, graduation requirements achievement evaluation and students' overall evaluation were carried out successively. Practice shows that the evaluation system is scientific and reasonable, which can provide reference for the evaluation of graduation requirements achievement for civil engineering and related specialty.

Abstract:The first-class undergraduate teaching is the core part of "Double World-class" construction in Chinese colleges and universities. In order to achieve the objectives of training "first-class talents" in first-class undergraduate education, the "student-oriented" education philosophy should be adopted in teaching. Through guiding students to participate actively in National Structure Design Competition, the students are trained to improve their abilities of problem solving, innovation, practicing and team-cooperation. Their ability to use professional knowledge comprehensively is also enhanced. Referring to some specific practices and good effects of structure design competition, three measures are suggested in teaching of structural mechanics, which are adding qualitative analysis content, strengthening practice teaching and adopting inquiry learning method. These measures can complement the deficiency of knowledge application training in traditional teaching.

Abstract:With the characteristics of variable structural style, complicated construction, too many knowledge points, etc., steel structure courses have brought difficulties to civil engineering undergraduates. Therefore, this paper presents a teaching model system, which combines both virtual simulation and physical model, to help the undergraduates understand relevant knowledge. The system of steel structure courses in undergraduate teaching is concluded, and its three characteristics are summarized including too wide range of knowledge to learn, too hard to understand and high requirement of space sense. Then a steel structure teaching model system is constructed based on several layers, such as components, joints, structure systems and damage states. Lastly, the construction situation of the four blocks of the system is introduced. With the proposed integration teaching method and theory teaching integrating and promoting mutually, the undergraduates' mastery of steel structure relevant knowledge is improved comprehensively.

Abstract:In teaching practice, the rational introduction of scientific research achievements is conducive to improving teaching results. Principles of steel structure design is an important basic course for civil engineering majors in higher engineering colleges, and it is also a compulsory course for students majoring in civil engineering. According to the training objectives and teaching characteristics of higher education, combined with the author's practical teaching experience in principles of steel structure design, the teaching of steel structure stability is chosen as a specific teaching case. It shows that the academic nature and artistic function of teaching can be reflected by introducing scientific research achievements into teaching. In addition, combining with the course teaching of steel structure design principle, it further elaborates how to integrate scientific research into teaching and form teaching art with certain characteristics from the aspects of familiar with teaching content, choice of entry point and utilization of extracurricular activities. The article can play an important role in improving teaching effect and promoting college students' innovative ability.

Abstract:With the acceleration of urbanization, the development of urban underground space has become larger and deeper. Thus, a large number of new urban engineering geological problems have emerged. The present model and content of the course of urban engineering geology cannot meet the national urban construction theme and social needs. Based on the teaching and scientific research experience of urban engineering geology, this paper puts forward a characteristic teaching system based on the knowledge system of classical engineering geology and urban geology, supplemented by the application-oriented engineering cases at home and abroad, taking information platform as communication and learning means, taking problem-oriented group learning as teaching assistant means, and making full use of social resources to promote practical teaching. The main role of students and the leading role of teachers can be brought into full play. The new curriculum system is conducive to improving students' learning ability and initiative, helping students to obtain the latest scientific research results of the subject, and the teaching effect is good.

Abstract:With the developing of the teaching reform of green building design, during the process of integrating green building courses into the traditional architectural teaching system, the selection of corresponding teaching contents and the setting of courses have become one of the main aspects of the teaching reform. Through the combination of architectural teaching methods and pedagogical principles, this paper takes the cognitive level of green building design as an example to discuss how to form specific educational goals by listing behavioral goals and behavioral patterns, and select specific teaching goals at each teaching level according to the two-dimensional chart constituted accordingly. It is expected that the two-dimensional chart of educational goals will guide the selection of green sustainable curriculum and the choice of teaching content, so as to provide reference for the future teaching reform of green buildings design.

Abstract:The first year of college life is the fundamental stage of undergraduate education, and basic general courses (BGC) in which is strictly significant, so the teaching competence of BGC is under intense attention. Based on the learning-centered concept, teaching should directly facilitate learning, and the supply from teachers should match the demand of students. Based on the characteristics of BGC, a framework of teaching competence is established. A questionnaire according to the framework finds that there is a cognition gap between the students and the teachers on teaching competence. The reasons of the deviation were analyzed and the appropriated paths of rectification were discussed.

Abstract:With the promotion of comprehensive enrollment policy in the college entrance examination, it has become an indispensible topic that how to attract excellent students to engage in building environment and energy engineering. Cognitive practice is an important practice for new students to have an idea about the major. Based on the development history, positioning and characteristics of the universities, enough attention should be paid to connotation construction of the major. Through comparison of knowledge and skill points of cognitive practice, metalworking practice, production practice and graduation practice, the differences and characteristics of cognitive practice are presented. By comparing the experiences and teaching methods of cognitive practice in domestic colleges, their successful experience is referred to. It provides ideas for formulating the cognitive practice program for Nanjing Tech University. The cognitive practice model of "culture edifying + base visiting + literature review + group discussion" is introduced. The enthusiasm of students is mobilized and good results have been achieved.

Abstract:Applying information technology to education is spreading in the age of internet plus. Informative education has imposed huge impacts on traditional higher education in many aspects, such as education concepts, education system, education pattern, education methods and education means, etc. In this context, a teaching assistant system based on WeChat public platform was developed to provide an open mobile learning platform and to solve the problems of traditional higher education, such as the update latency of textbooks, the conflicts of personalized learning, the single evaluation method, the inefficient roll call, etc. The system has been applied twice for civil engineering students in the building architecture course, and the effect is good. On the one hand, with the help of the teacher's well-designed outline, students can learn and test independently on their mobile terminal. On the other hand, the teacher can explore teaching innovation about teaching resource, teaching pattern, assessing ways and class roll call. The system is also suitable for other courses.

Abstract:With the deepened advancement of educational informatization, especially the introducing of the rain classroom, blended teaching has been endowed with richer connotation, and the teaching reform in colleges and universities has been further promoted. Blended teaching mode based on rain classroom integrates network information technology into traditional teaching process, which can realize the dual-channel teaching of "synchronous" and "asynchronous". The application of rain classroom in undergraduate course teaching of science and engineering has remarkable effect in solving such problems as tedious classroom, large amount of notes, heavy task of correcting homework, formality of assessment, difficulty of quantification, and contradictions between less teaching hours and more content of courses, more students in class and lack of interaction between teachers and students. In view of the problems existing in practice, such as excessive reliance on the network and smart phones and other equipment, the mismatch between teachers' extra energy input and teaching-hour subsidy, it is recommended to improve from technical and institutional guarantees to truly promote education reform and innovation.

Abstract:Rock mechanics test is an important way to study rock mechanics properties and obtain mechanical parameters. In order to research the damage process of rock specimens with various sizes under different load levels, the Python language is used to make secondary development for ABAQUS and the parameterized numerical simulation system for rock mechanics test is established. The Drucker-Prager failure criterion considering shear effect is programmed into VUSDFLD subroutine and the failure element deletion algorithm is introduced to study the deformation and damage process of rock specimens. Then the triaxial compression test of granite block is taken as an example to verify the validity of the simulation system. The system can match with the laboratory loading platform according to the users' need, improve the efficiency of modeling and analysis, and enrich the content of mechanics test.
