    Abstract:
Classroom teaching is one of the main forms of teaching in domestic colleges and universities. However, the traditional classroom teaching pattern, where teachers give lectures throughout while students keep listening passively, has led to some visible problems. Under its directly or indirectly influence, the learning effect is difficult to guarantee, students are lack of initiative on learning, their learning interest and creative thinking are failure to aroused, their understanding of classroom content is not deep enough, and the knowledge is not firmly grasped. This paper proposes that colleges and universities can adopt a teaching pattern that meets the students' internal needs, that is, problem-based learning (PBL) pedagogy. By creating a situation and atmosphere driven by practical problems, students' interest and motivation in learning can be improved. When implementing PBL teaching model in the class of civil engineering, college teachers are supposed to design appropriate problems which satisfy undergraduates' motivation to study and their development needs. Some teaching strategies are also needed to motivate students to participate in the class actively.

    [Abstract](814) [HTML](428) [PDF 2.76 M](1283)
    Abstract:
At present, a systematic and comprehensive online and offline hybrid teaching model has not yet been formed. In particular, the application of hybrid teaching concept to the teaching and research of civil engineering specialty course is still very deficient. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of civil engineering specialty course and the problems existing in teaching, a hybrid teaching mode of online and offline integration is proposed. This teaching mode is based on multimedia PPT, blackboard writing, MIRC network platform and course learning website. It adopts teaching methods such as lecture, discussion, task-driven and self-learning, which can minimize the fatigue of students in the process of learning and fully stimulate students' interest and potential in learning. The application results in the teaching of "building structure design" as a core professional course of civil engineering show that the proposed hybrid teaching mode of online and offline has better learning effect and contributes to the cultivation of innovative practical talents.

In the teaching of material mechanics, case teaching is an effective method to stimulate students' interest and initiative in learning. At present, mainstream textbooks for material mechanics are based on mechanically related structures or components, and rarely involve civil engineering cases. In the long history of civil engineering, there are many construction achievements and many failure cases. If these civil engineering cases are selected as teaching cases, they can not only make the course full of vitality, but also enable students to get more professional knowledge. Based on the curriculum of material mechanics, several representative cases related to civil engineering are listed in this paper, corresponding to the relevant chapters in the course of material mechanics, which can provide reference for classroom teaching.

    Abstract:
With the in-depth implementation of "The Belt and Road" strategy and the increasingly fierce international competition in the construction industry, the international development of civil engineering has put forward new requirements for the cultivation of civil engineering talents in China. In order to strengthen the competitiveness in the international market, the study of specialized English for civil engineering has become not only an inevitable trend but also an effective choice for the education of civil engineering. By re-examining a series of problems in the current teaching of specialized English for civil engineering, the paper elaborates the practical strategies of the course reform of specialized English for civil engineering from the aspects of teaching mode reform and teacher team construction, such as extending the course periods, improving students' attention, enriching the teaching content and optimizing the teaching modes, and strengthening the curriculum resources and teaching staff and forming a continuously improved assessment mechanism.
