    • Characteristics of social demand and knowledge system of engineering education for water science and engineering specialty

      Abstract:According to the professional connotation and training objectives stipulated in the National Standard for Professional Teaching Quality of High Education, combined with the requirements of engineering education evaluation and certification, characteristics of social demand for water science and engineering specialty are systematically analyzed from 8 aspects, such as resource, sociality, environment and economy, etc. The results show that the social needs of this major have the characteristics of wide range, many influencing factors, high complexity and strong comprehensiveness, so that higher requirements are put forward for the construction of knowledge system for engineering education, the setting of curriculum system and the implementation of teaching system. Based on the concept of OBE, the knowledge system of engineering education is also put forward, which is suitable for the demand characteristics of water science and engineering specialty, and the coupling relationship between them is analyzed systematically.

      Abstract:Derived from the needs of national and local economic development, combined with educational orientation and talent training direction of Chongqing University, centered on the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating of people, and based on the latest standards of engineering education professional certification and first-class discipline construction requirements, professional training goals and graduation requirements were formulated. A professional curriculum system was built, such as public basic courses, general education courses, broad basic courses, professional basic courses, professional courses, practical exercises, and personalized modules. Focusing on the automobile manufacturing and parts supporting industries, high-end equipment manufacturing industry and intelligent robot industry, collaborative education with enterprises has been carried out. According to the evaluation results, the training goals, graduation requirements, curriculum system settings and teaching process have been continuously improved. Talent training program aimed at cultivating high-quality and innovative talents in mechanical engineering has been proposed. The first-class undergraduate education in mechanical design and manufacturing and automation specialty with Chinese characteristics and the style of Chongqing University was explored to provide talent guarantee for serving the high-quality development of the country and localities.

      Abstract:Urban underground space engineering is a new subject which combines theory and practice closely. At present, the talent training of various schools is still in the initial stage of exploration, which is out of line with the talent demand of enterprises. Combined with the urban underground space project of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, this paper puts forward some measures such as setting up research institute, laboratory, practice base and network platform by combining school and enterprise, establishing talent incubation pool by using the teaching resources and enterprise engineering practice of colleges and universities, giving full play to the respective advantages of colleges and enterprises, and putting forward the school enterprise cooperation training mode from the perspective of talent training and enterprise development needs. In this way, the school students can enter the practice base to improve the engineering practice ability, and the enterprise employees can supplement the theoretical knowledge through the network platform, so as to realize the win-win goal of the school and enterprise talent training. This paper analyzes the feasibility of school enterprise cooperative training mode from the perspective of universities and enterprises. The results show that the school enterprise cooperative training mode is of great significance to the teaching reform and the long-term development of enterprises.

      Abstract:The civil engineering specialty is a typical example of conventional engineering specialty. Under the emerging engineering construction background, there are many problems in the specialty construction, such as no op-locked improved mechanism, unprogressive education idea and scattered reform measures. Guided by the education concept of "student-centered, achievement oriented, and all elements coordinated", optimizing the system of content and teaching platform, with "three circulation" mechanism of continuous improvement in class, in school and out of school, the civil engineering specialty of Central South University of Forestry and Technology (CSUFT) formed the talent training mode with the new concept guidance and all elements collaborative education, and achieved remarkable effects. These insights include:the major goes ahead of the disciplinary and then develops parallel. The top-level design of educational reform goes ahead of the action. All teachers and students should deeply participate in the overall reform process and the college autonomy should be guaranteed.

      Abstract:The seepage problems are common in hydraulic engineering, geotechnical engineering, oil and gas engineering, related specialized course have attracted more attention by many universities. Aimed to the prominent teaching problems in the classroom, the basic seepage knowledge is improved for the students and also the visualized teaching mode is discussed. In addition, different software technologies are used for visualized presentation from different points of view, describing the seepage concepts, laws, models and calculation methods, and the classroom presentation considering research projects give students deep understanding the seepage implications and the ability to implement the case analysis by themselves. The teaching practice shows that the teaching mode based on software visualization can improve the studying activity of the postgraduates and stimulate their creative thinking and corresponding ability.

      Abstract:Big data analysis, with its advantages of objectivity, dynamic and comprehensive, provides important assistance for the transformation and development of urban design. It is of great significance to teach urban design with big data. According to the feedback from the past, there are four problems, such as the difficulty of teaching, the forced compression of urban design teaching content, the deliberate evasion of big data operation, and the traditional urban design teaching method that teachers still choose. In view of the above problems, this study proposes that in the practice of urban design curriculum, the teaching objectives, pre class preparation, stage operation content and teaching setting, curriculum evaluation and feedback are adjusted to be the means of big data application intervention in the course. On this basis, the course of big data enabling city and design is integrated from the preparatory stage, research, analysis stage, and scheme and achievement stage. Through the establishment of students' basic ability of big data, training students' data collection and mining ability, guiding students to have data analysis ability, training the ability of using data innovation and design, and cultivating the visual expression ability. The ability of the students to use big data in urban design should be strengthened gradually by the training of equal empowerment. Finally, it is pointed out that the intervention of big data application has promoted the change of the students' learning mode of urban design, and also comprehensively improved the students' thinking ability of urban design creation

      Abstract:In the process of continuously improving the education concept of emerging engineering education, how to effectively implement various engineering disciplines is the key to the construction of emerging engineering education. This paper discusses the implement of emerging engineering education construction of bridge engineering specialty by curriculum group mode, and the characteristics of bridge engineering curriculum group. With the help of curriculum map method, the curriculum composition of bridge engineering course group is constructed, and the relationship between the courses of bridge engineering course group is further sorted out. By making full use of modern teaching technology, a bridge engineering course group platform is developed, which summarizes and integrates the existing teaching resources, strengthens the links between courses, and achieves the actual effect of teacher-student interaction and resource sharing.       Abstract:Seismic design of building structures is a strongly comprehensive professional course of the structural engineering division which covers disciplines such as steel and concrete structures, structural mechanics, geology, and seismic engineering. Compared to other professional courses with rather singular knowledge systems, this course requires much more for the integrity of knowledge. The article focuses on the case project teaching approach, explaining why the method was proposed, its characteristics, and its specific requirements. It also provides some advice about the application of this new approach on actual courses. We sincerely hope that this article can be of help in the widespread application of the case project teaching approach.

      Abstract:To discuss several problems in the process of establishing and solving equations of motion in structural dynamics teaching. It mainly includes the difference of stiffness coefficients between dynamic and static mechanics as well as their relationship by the static condensation, the Fourier transformation condition from impulse response function to frequency response function and their effect on dynamic response, the frequency response function of the hysteretic damping system. For the lumped-mass system with only translational degree of freedom, the stiffness in dynamics is the force required along DOF due to unit displacement at translational DOF and relaxation of rotational DOFs, and the stiffness coefficients obtained by the static condensation method and the unit displacement method are identical; Whether a system with damping or not, the Fourier transformation relationship between the frequency response function and the impulse response function is accurate; the particular solution includes steady-state vibration and free adjoint vibration in the time domain, however, only the steady-state vibration in the frequency domain. Their difference is evident for the initial stage of vibration. The difference is more noticeable for small natural frequency. For a system with hysteretic damping, the frequency response function of the negative frequency should be the conjugate function of that of the corresponding positive frequency.

      Abstract:Innovative teaching and learning is an important way to improve the quality of talent cultivation. Based on the needs of talent training in the era of "Education Informatiozation 2.0", this study analyzed the necessity of blended teaching reform of civil engineering courses. Then based on the internet plus curriculum construction mode and the reverse instructional design theory, this study constructed a blended teaching mode based on SPOC+ MOOCs classroom from the aspects of teaching goal setting, teaching object analysis, teaching resource construction, interactive teaching activity design and diversified assessment system. Taking the course of civil engineering construction organization as an example, the results indicate that the blended teaching mode improves the students' driving force and problem-solving ability in autonomous learning to some extent, increases the students' sense of acquisition, and promotes the cultivation of students' engineering practice ability.

      Abstract:The heat transfer course is one of the professional basic courses in the subject of building environment and energy application engineering specialty. With the promotion of emerging engineering education, the heat transfer course will undertake the task of training innovative talents, which are consistent with the current undergraduate scientific innovation ability training system. In the teaching process of heat transfer course in Nanjing Tech University, the "five-question introspect report" system is introduced to encourage students to apply their knowledge to undergraduate scientific innovation training programs. Meanwhile, the cases in the former challenging cups and "internet plus" innovation and entrepreneurship competition are introduced to explain the basic principles of heat transfer, as well as the discussion on scientific innovation projects. This practice provides a reference for the improvement of teaching quality in heat transfer course and the cultivation of innovative ability of undergraduate students in this subject.

      Abstract:To comprehensively promote the ideological and political construction of curriculum is an effective measure to fulfill the fundamental task of moral education, which affects and decides the problems of talent training, national stability, national rejuvenation and national rise. The basic mechanics course is a very important basic course for most science and engineering majors. How to integrate the ideological and political teaching idea into the basic mechanics course and realize the purpose of collaborative education are urgent problems for the majority of mechanics educators. Taking the course of basic mechanics as an example, by the team construction and practical exploration, the ideological and political elements contained in the course are deeply explored, and the course ideological and political teaching cases and implementation paths are explored, so as to provide reference for the collaborative education construction of the course of mechanics in colleges and universities. Firstly, it emphasizes the necessity of ideological and political teaching reform of basic mechanics course.       Abstract:Through the problem-based flipped classroom to solve the problems existing in the traditional urban planning principles course. The teaching contents of the course of urban planning principles are various and complicated. And the traditional teaching method is mainly based on teacher's narration, which leads to the students' passive learning and poor teaching effect. In combination with PBL flipped classroom, the traditional classroom will be flipped with the guidance of questions, forming a student-centered and teacher-directed ability training teaching. This paper introduces the concrete teaching practice plan, the practice includes modularized reconstruction of teaching content based on flipped classroom, and building learning platform on WeChat. It also clarifies the specific methods and steps of PBL flipped classroom before, during and after class, as well as the way of examination and evaluation. Through practical research, it is concluded that the teaching of PBL flipped classroom makes teachers more clearly understand the weak links of students' curriculum learning. The students' abilities in autonomous learning, communication and cooperation, summary and induction, and language expression have been greatly improved, and the teaching effect is improved.

      Abstract:Architectural design teaching combined with construction practice has become an important teaching mode and been widely used. Through the collection and investigation of various construction practice activities carried out by architecture schools in recent years, three main types are summarized, namely construction courses as teaching activities, domestic and international construction competitions organized by colleges and universities, and rural construction competitions. The three types of construction activities are compared and expounded from the aspects of nature and objective, material and function, evaluation and influence. In the end, the paper gives some reflections and suggestions on the future development of architecture construction teaching based on the dynamic development of construction practice.

      Abstract:The third grade architectural design course plays an important role in the five years of architectural design learning. In the teaching process of the third grade architectural design in Shandong Jianzhu University, the teaching team found that there are some drawbacks in the original teaching objectives, teaching methods and teaching research development. In line with the original intention linking up with the engineering education certification standards, the teaching group borrowed the advanced idea of OBE:taking achievement as the guidance, student-centered, continuous improvement as the development as the guiding ideology of teaching reform, and carried out the overall framework and improvement of the third grade architectural design course. Taking the assignment of "space regeneration" as an example, this paper introduces in detail the specific reform contents of architectural design course for grade three of Shandong Jianzhu University in recent five years from three aspects of setting teaching objectives by stages, refining teaching methods by multi-layer and continuously improving teaching research, and provides a reference for the students from designing elementary to expansion capacity.

      Abstract:Taking the reform of soil mechanics experiment teaching in Guangdong University of Technology as an example, the characteristics and teaching effects of the three experimental assessment modes are compared and analyzed. The traditional teaching and assessment mode (the assessment mode I is based on the normal performance + experimental report), and the formation of the stereotyped experimental report cannot achieve the expected teaching effect. The assessment mode II includes normal performance, experimental report experimental, examinations, and the distribution of experimental results and teaching effects have been significantly improved. The results show that the test of experiment can adjust the students' interest in practice, cultivate hands-on ability, and the impact of the operation test is particularly significant. The guide-design-experiment-report four-part experimental teaching process and the whole-test mode (the assessment mode III) are in line with the student-centered, results-oriented engineering education concept, which can achieve the desired experimental teaching effect.

      Abstract:Based on the research project, taking the bending resistance of PP-ECC beam as an example, and combined with the experimental teaching of concrete beams in building materials, this paper analyzes the differences of RC beam and PP-ECC beam in crack shape, width, deformation development and bearing capacity, and summarizes and explores the new methods and new ideas of bending experiment of beam structure with new materials. The innovation and reform of beam structure experiment teaching mode, which integrates scientific research, engineering practice and experiment, is put forward.       Abstract:As the first batch of undergraduate-level vocational education pilot colleges, Chongqing Vocational and Technical University of Mechatronics actively participates in the talent training practice of undergraduate-level vocational education, based on the characteristics of "undergraduate education in level and vocational education in type". First of all, through the transformation of talent training goals, the differences and connections between vocational undergraduates and vocational colleges and ordinary undergraduates are discussed, and the positioning of the training goals of undergraduate vocational education talents is found. Second, the undergraduate-level vocational education talent training system is constructed from four aspects:faculty, practical teaching, professional teaching, and skills training.       Abstract:In order to promote the "Three-wide education" work in colleges and universities, and explore the new pattern of full-staff education, whole-process education and all-round education, the Huxi campus of Chongqing University has combined its own advantages and actively explored new ways of Party construction in the students' dormitory area. With establishing "one student affair office and two student activity rooms" work platform, improving the teacher-student coordination working mechanism, and carrying out the dormitory education. Then formed integrated education pattern of dormitory educating people. After years of exploration, the Huxi campus has witnessed remarkable achievements made in the work of Party building in dormitory areas. However, further efforts are needed in terms of Party organization construction, Party-building propaganda, the leading role of exemplary Party members in dormitory areas, as well as the deeper integration of Party building and dormitory education. To better permeate the work of Party building into dormitory education, at the school level, it is necessary to further clarify the positioning of the campus, rationalize the operating mechanism, and integrate the working teams with clear responsibilities respectively. Working in the same direction with collaborated endeavors, that is how we can embrace the desirable landscape of integrated education.

      Abstract:The laboratory is an important position for universities to organize experiment teaching, carry out innovative scientific research, cultivate students' practical ability, and stimulate students' innovative spirit and vitality. Taking the opportunity of the construction of the first batch of pilot universities for the comprehensive reform of "Three-wide education", Chongqing University has comprehensively promoted the comprehensive reform of the "Three-wide education", and established ten major education systems, including curriculum education, scientific research education, practice education, culture education, network education, psychology education, management education, service education, subsidized education, and organization education, and has constructed six important education positions, including classrooms, dormitories, laboratories, canteens, venues and libraries. In terms of laboratory practice education, Chongqing University has established a vertically and horizontally integrated laboratory practice education system, has expanded the education space, has formed a laboratory pattern of "Three-wide education ", and has solidly promoted the fundamental task of moral enhancement and talent cultivation.
