    Abstract:
    It has become an important part in the development of higher education in China to cultivate high-level talents and to boost the construction of world-class universities and first-class disciplines. In recent years, the training of globally competitive talents in architecture has made marked progress. From the viewpoint of architectural frontiers, however, there are still some issues remain unsolved, including narrow knowledge structure, lack of connection with the development needs of the industry and the country, and deficiency in positive interaction between international and domestic education. The Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University focuses on the construction of national first-class majors, and adheres to the concept of "fostering virtue through education", with the goal of "high-level, high-standard, and go-global" and the guideline of improving students’ capability in innovation, practice and scientific research in global context in the lead. The faculty has built and implemented the talent cultivation mechanism, namely "VITAL" as the core concept. And long-term and stable cooperative relations with overseas world-class architectural institutes have been established to comprehensively expand students’ knowledge and vision. It provides conditions for cultivating a bunch of professionals with both international vision and local feelings, innovative consciousness and critical thinking in the field of architecture.

    Abstract:
    Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology has become a powerful driving force for the transformation of the construction industry. The effective integration of BIM in engineering education is the key to cultivating the construction industry practitioners. Based on the review of the progress, contents and challenges in BIM education, this study systematically describes the levels, curriculum settings, and teaching methods of BIM education in architecture, engineering, and construction programs in American and British universities, and summarizes their core ideas, topics, courses and methods of BIM education. Domestic colleges and universities should speed up the pace of BIM education in architecture, engineering, and construction programs from all aspects such as BIM curriculum system, software and hardware environment, faculty team, teaching pattern and university-enterprise cooperation.

    Abstract:
    Clarifying the confusion between the rational assessment of cultivating objectives and the achievement assessment of cultivating objectives in civil engineering specialty under the background of engineering education certification is of great significance to promote the engineering education certification and construction of civil engineering specialty. Firstly, this paper briefly reviews the development history of civil engineering specialty certification, and points out the significance of specialty development guided by outcome based education (OBE) philosophy. Then, the connotation and elements of cultivating objectives at the scope of engineering education certification are analyzed, the difference between rational assessment and achievement assessment of cultivating objectives is interpreted, and the operation process and case study are proposed. The relevant research results could provide a certain reference value for promoting the development of civil engineering specialty.

    Abstract:
    This paper takes the course of frontier in discipline of building environment and energy application engineering of China University of Mining and Technology as an example to introduce the basic situation of the course and the literature citation of students when completing the course paper. It analyzes the students’ emphasis on new literature based on the citation data in recent 3-5 years. By comparing the citation of Chinese and foreign literature, it points out that students do not pay enough attention to collecting the development status of international research when sorting out the papers. The possible reasons are given. Finally, the paper summarizes the references cited in the process of engineering college students’ thesis writing, and gives some suggestions.

    Abstract:
    Personnel training objectives and training paths are to answer the questions of what kind of person to train and how to train. As one of the first universities to set up the engineering cost major (direction), Southwest Jiaotong University, based on its own distinctive traffic characteristics, following the requirements of discipline and specialty integration construction under double first-class construction and emerging engineering education, in accordance with the development trend of engineering cost major, has established the compound talent training target of "outstanding application + scientific research innovation". Accordingly, the realization matrix is constructed, and the realization paths of whole process and whole-cycle engineering cost, such as four levels of capability, four dimensions of practice mode, compound structure of teachers, cooperative education between government-industry-university-research-application, and continuous improvement mechanism are proposed. It provides a reform direction and practical experience for the construction of characteristic engineering cost major.

    Abstract:
    With the accelerated development of urbanization in China and the orderly progress of the Belt and Road Initiative, construction industry has a huge prospect for the demand for engineering professionals. With the help of focused crawler, 9443 pieces of recruitment information related to engineering cost in the recruitment website of 51job is captured. The paper analyzes the demand characteristics of engineering cost professionals and constructs an ordered choice-probit model to explore the influencing factors of target salary. The results show that the demand of engineering cost professionals presents the characteristics of regional imbalance, generalization of educational background, concretization of work experience, and integration of post demand and professional ability. The demand for six kinds of capabilities varies greatly. The positive effect of professional qualification certification on target salary is significant. The higher the salary is, the higher the requirements of work experience and education are. The salary level is related to the city level, and there is a significant difference between the super first tier cities and other cities. Big data analysis provides certain data support for all kinds of colleges and universities to establish a talent training mode of engineering cost specialty to meet the market demand.

    Taking the course of architectural optics as an example, combined with the preliminary course construction and research foundation of Chongqing University, the cultivation mode of green building innovative talents is discussed. Through the reform of teaching methods, the expansion of teaching mode and the optimization of evaluation methods, interdisciplinary integration and coordinated development are promoted, the production-teaching-research integration and school-enterprise cooperation platforms are established, the construction of experimental platform is strengthened, students’ practical ability is promoted, the discipline competition training guidance system is established, students’ comprehensive ability is enhanced, and an innovative talent training system is constructed. The research can realize the innovation of green building talent training mode, break discipline barriers and promote the integration of disciplines. It is of great significance to the cultivation of green building innovative talents.

    Abstract:
    China’s Education Modernization 2035 focuses on the explicit problems and weak parts in education, and points out that it is necessary to strengthen the connection and integration of education and industrial development, and enrich and innovate curriculum forms. Digital modeling and simulation are the key content in the training of information technology ability, and the cultivation quality is of great significance to the teaching reform in universities. At present, application-oriented universities can not well meet the needs of enterprises in the cultivation of digital modeling and simulation. This requires universities to carry out industry-oriented teaching reform in curriculum contents. Engineering fluid mechanics is a school-level excellent course in Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, which plays an important role in improving the quality of talent cultivation. The teaching team actively uses modern information technology by introducing a three-level teaching method with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. The curriculum reform lays a foundation for further improving the adaptability of courses to industry needs by leading students to operate various engineering applications from simple cases to complex cases.

    Abstract:
    As the Belt and Road construction continues to advance, a large number of international students come to China to study. It is of great significance to explore the cultivation mode for international students to ensure the quality. Taking the civil, architecture and transportation majors of Southeast University as an example, this research analyzes the problems existing in the enrollment form, cultivation objectives and cultivation methods of international students from the perspective of advisors through questionnaire survey. The main problems observed are incorrect understanding of convergence, neglected role of tutors, lack of communication mechanism, unclear admission standards, imperfect curriculum system and backward teaching methods. It is proposed to adhere to appropriate convergence, increase the participation of advisors, establish a reasonable and effective communication mechanism, strictly control admissions, and reform the curriculum and teaching system, to promote the high-quality development of international graduate student education in China.

    Professional course teaching for graduate students plays an important role in the ability cultivation of graduate students. How to improve the quality of teaching, especially how to meet the rapid development of social employment needs, is a significant topic that needs to be explored and solved. With the rapid development of tunnel engineering, bridge engineering, port water conservancy engineering, geological engineering and other industries, the construction of projects tends to be more and more deep and large-scale, which poses a new challenge to the needs of practitioners for knowledge of rock mechanics and higher requirements for postgraduate education. Advanced rock mechanics course, as a professional basic course that closely integrates theory and practice, plays a pivotal role in the cultivation of graduate students’ professional attainment. In this paper, the characteristics and existing problems of advanced rock mechanics course teaching are analyzed, the actual needs of engineering practice, postgraduate training and education reform are taken into consideration, and the guiding ideas and practical measures for the teaching reform of this course are put forward. The teaching reform practice is carried out in advanced rock mechanics course for postgraduates majoring in architecture and civil engineering of Tongji University, which has achieved good results, and provided a reference for the teaching reform of postgraduate courses in the future.

    In response to the deployment of the State Council on accelerating the reform and development of water conservancy, and to promote China’s transformation from a manufacturing country to a creative country, a cultivation mode of innovative water conservancy graduate students in regional universities under the context of double first-class construction is explored based on the cultivation practice of water conservancy graduate students in regional universities. Problems encountered in the cultivating of water conservancy graduate students in regional universities are investigated. Then, based on the problems orientated and taking training top-notch talents and improving the level of scientific research under the context of double first-class construction as the goal, reform approaches for cultivating innovative water conservancy graduate students in regional universities are proposed. A cultivation mode based on four-self education is developed, namely self-education, self-cultivation, self-innovation and self-management. Finally, the achievements in the practice of these reform approaches for cultivating water conservancy graduate students in Nanchang University are introduced, to provide references for cultivating graduate students in other regional universities.

Based on this background, in this paper, the guiding ideas about teaching reform of ideological and political construction of rural planning course are put forward, including adhering to the national strategy, closely focusing on the cultivation of values, and effectively integrating into the course teaching.     Taking the subject of structural mechanics as an example, the teaching method of progressive conceptual analysis is proposed from the perspective of student-centered teaching. The contradiction between teaching and learning of structural mechanics is expounded. The cultivation of conceptual analysis capability is divided into three stages: concept comprehension capability, concept discrimination capability and flexible concept application capability. Setting specific exercises which embody concepts, students are trained to summarize problem solving methods and clarify problem solving ideas from the perspective of conceptual analysis independently. It is aimed at developing student’s independent learning capability. The concept comprehension capability can be improved by setting wrong-prone exercises. The concept discrimination capability can be improved by setting easily confused exercises. The flexible concept application capability can be improved by setting multi-solution exercises. It solves the difficulty of conceptual analysis teaching by using concept comprehension, concept discrimination and flexible concept application capability as steps.

    Through the four aspects of teaching, learning, evaluation and inheritance, taking the existing industrial building renovation design course as an example, the paper analyzes the teaching mode of renovation design course, and explores the ways of course teaching reform. With a high-quality teaching team composed of architects, planners and other experts teaching the core meaning of design principles, choosing construction sites as teaching sites, the research heuristic teaching mode is constructed. Through multi-channel learning such as asking questions from experts, observing the construction site, studying topics, students’ theoretical and practical understanding ability is cultivated. Multi-type evaluation focuses on extensive communication, sharing and discussion among students, as well as various types of drawing evaluation by experts inside and outside school.     To improve the teaching quality of higher education, attention should not only be paid to the improvement of teachers’ teaching ability, but also to the improvement of students’ ability to gain knowledge. Combined with online teaching mode, the paper conducts a survey and analyzes the state of the audience students, and on this basis, carries out thinking on the innovation of teaching methods. Through the survey about learning state, it is reflected that under the online mode, students’ self-consciousness has a significant impact on the learning effect, and the improvement of students’ self-consciousness is also achieved gradually during the learning process.     Abstract:
    The cultivation of analytical thinking is of great significance to the independent learning and critical thinking of architectural professional courses. Based on the guidance of teaching and policy factors, this paper studies the cultivation and training of analytical thinking. Summarizing the important historical nodes of architecture analysis teaching, the teaching objectives, organization and content of architecture analysis course in Chongqing University are discussed, three students’ homework are evaluated. Architectural analysis systems such as environment, function, form, space, construction and diagram can help students deepen their understanding of architecture design principles, explore the causes behind the works, enrich the inherent cognition of architecture analysis, and cultivate analytical thinking and critical consciousness. Finally, teaching suggestions are put forward from the aspects of enriching teaching forms, strengthening the connection between analysis course and design course, and establishing case database, hoping to provide reference for the current architecture analysis teaching research.

    Based on the concept of engineering education accreditation and the 12 graduation ability requirements, taking the course of introduction to road, bridge and river-crossing engineering as an example, the knowledge system of professional introduction course is reconstructed and divided into four parts and taught by four knowledgeable teachers separately, and freshmen entrance education ability training guidance, bilingual teaching, ideological and political education in curriculum are involved. It is organized by group teaching in class. For the course multi-level evaluation system design, online video watching task, complex engineering problem thinking, team question-based competition, team special topic presentation, and course paper writing are introduced. To strengthen or improve the relationship between teachers and students or teaching and learning, communication platform is established for all professional teachers and students to achieve continuous guidance, otherwise, the frame of "30 years linkage between teachers and students" is created for sharing alumni experiences into introduction course and assistance of specialty construction. Through several rounds of reformation and practice, the experience can provide useful reference for similar engineering introduction courses.

    The "Eaglet program" is a bridge between universities and high schools.     Graduation design is the final work in the undergraduate teaching process of civil engineering. It is a systematic inspection and application of students’ undergraduate learning knowledge including theoretical knowledge and professional expertise. Graduation design is a systematic and comprehensive training link for cultivating students’ engineering application ability and scientific research and innovation ability, and it is more to reflect the comprehensive ability of undergraduate students in solving complex engineering problems. The existing undergraduate graduation design for civil engineering majors is mainly engineering design, focusing on cultivating students’ engineering practice ability, but neglecting the cultivation of scientific research and innovation ability, which is not conducive to the comprehensive and all-round development of civil engineering graduates.     To ensure the quality of online mixed teaching of structural mechanics, promote students’ active learning and improve the quality of personnel training, based on the teaching syllabus and training objectives of structural mechanics, this paper chooses Learning Tong and Dingding software as the teaching platform, to optimize the allocation of teaching resources, and innovate classroom teaching design. Through moral education, learning guidance, learning exploration, teaching improvement and teaching innovation, the online mixed classroom teaching effect is guaranteed. Through the four modules of homework, test, interactive discussion and sign in, the whole process of teaching management is fair and just, and the results are true and effective. The results show that the students have a positive attitude towards learning, their enthusiasm for active learning is significantly improved, their usual performance is better, and the final paper performance is good, basically achieving the goal of substantially equivalent online and offline teaching effects. With teachers’ diligence and students’ exertion, the online mixed teaching mode of structural mechanics can guarantee and improve the quality of student training.

    Abstract:
    Various high-level design competitions are very helpful to the teaching of architecture undergraduates. Choosing a competition as a design course to organize all teachers and students to participate has many advantages, but there are also some difficulties. Through the teaching practice of competition courses organized in recent years, the advantages and disadvantages of competition courses are analyzed, and the teaching organization process from competition topic selection, in-class teaching to extended after-school tutoring is summarized. Through questionnaire survey analysis, it is found that students generally positively evaluate the competition courses, most of them can keep up with the competition rhythm; teachers also agree with the competition courses and believe that the original teaching framework can basically meet the requirements of the competition. In short, competition as a design course is a feasible and beneficial teaching activity, and it is necessary to continuously accumulate experience and improve teaching organization and management mechanism.

    Abstract:
    Aimed at the problems in practical teaching of distinctively established specialty, building of the practical teaching system with the OBE (outcome based education) idea and operation of the practical teaching system with the PDCA (plan-do-check-act) idea are proposed. Taking city underground space engineering specialty for example, the reverse design flow path of rebuilding of practical teaching system with OBE idea from practical teaching objectives, practical teaching system, practical teaching methods, to practical teaching evaluation is explained in detail and the quality management process of "planning, operation, monitoring and improvement" under PDCA idea is analyzed. The practice shows that, the rebuilding and operation of practical teaching system of city underground space engineering specialty based on OBE-PDCA idea has achieved good results, which can provide reference for practical teaching of distinctively established specialty.

    Abstract:
    Under the background of COVID-19 epidemic, to protect the health and safety of teachers and students, the Ministry of Education issued the guidance on "classes suspended but learning continues". In view of the problems such as the difficulty of online teaching, the low participation of students and the poor learning effect of experimental courses in colleges and universities, the innovative teaching method of experimental courses in colleges and universities based on the cloud platform of numerical calculation is proposed. The method solves the boring problems of engineering experimental courses during the epidemic period effectively, and improves students’ interest and learning efficiency. Through the actual operation of the cloud computing platform and numerical calculation software, it improves students’ ability to understand and solve engineering practical problems. In addition, based on the summary of engineering practical problems, it improves students’ scientific research quality and lays a good foundation for the development of their scientific research path.

    Abstract:
    At present, the fire resistance experiment teaching of building structure has gradually become an important teaching element of the course of civil engineering disaster prevention and mitigation. However, only a few universities in China have the physical platform of building structure fire resistance experiment. Meanwhile, due to the particularity of fire resistance experiment, the related teaching resources are very limited. Based on the modern technologies of multimedia, network communication and virtual simulation, a series of teaching resources and platforms of building structure fire resistance experiment teaching have been constructed, including physical experiment platform, virtual simulation platform, virtual teaching aids, micro experiment and MOOC. Using the platforms, the traditional experimental teaching mode is broken through. Taking interest as the core, this paper explores a virtual-actual combination teaching scheme, and the integration of experimental teaching and theoretical teaching is realized. The evaluation system of experiment teaching is established, which emphasizes both process and result, and pays attention to continuous improvement. In addition, it emphasizes the autonomy and innovation of learning, encourages students to try boldly, and enhances their subjective initiative and professional competitiveness.
