Abstract:The reform policy has played a decisive and pivotal role in the governance of higher engineering education in China. Under the guidance of policy, China's higher engineering education has transformed governance thinking, shifting from administrative logic to academic logic. The governance goal has also evolved from serving industrial construction to supporting industrial upgrading. Furthermore, there has been a shift in the governance pattern from top-down decision-making to multiple coordination. The implications of governance have become increasingly prominent, and remarkable achievements have been made. However, China's engineering education still has governance dilemmas such as the need to update governance concept, imperfect collaborative governance mechanism, and lack of supervision and evaluation mechanism. It needs to further improve governance mechanisms and efficiency through optimizing processes, perfecting norms, and feedback evaluation.

Abstract:Under the background of emerging engineering education, the training objectives and methods of engineering majors are constantly changing. Colleges and universities are entrusted with the mission of cultivating high-quality compound emerging engineering education talents. Curriculum becomes an important foothold of teaching reform. Material mechanics, serving as a foundational course within engineering disciplines, plays a pivotal role in the cultivation of innovative engineering professionals, and it is imperative to reform the course teaching. The teaching team analyzes the current teaching situation of materials mechanics, such as deeper theory, logic and engineering practice of the course itself, as well as problems existing in the course teaching such as uninspiring content, incomprehensible derivation process and rigid evaluation system. Based on the concept of outcome based education(OBE), the teaching team leverages the wealth of informational resources to explore the course content, teaching methods and assessment methods, and proposes the innovative teaching system of interest+understand+application (IUA). This system is designed to amplify student engagement, enrich comprehension of the material, and bolster the application of theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. The teaching of civil engineering and transportation in Southeast University is used as an example for practical research, by introducing engineering cases, enriching the classroom form by using internal and network resources and improving the course evaluation method. The effectiveness of the reform is tested through the survey of students’ classroom satisfaction, students’ knowledge mastery ability, and students’ extracurricular practice results.

By exploring the problems in the ideological and political construction of fluid mechanics, and based on the course content and characteristics, the objectives of ideological and political education are determined. Through the refinement of ideological and political elements and corresponding design of teaching plans, the integration of ideological and political content into the curriculum is realized. While the application of modern information technology provides more possibilities for the construction of ideological and political education in the curriculum, by deeply integrating modern information technology with teaching relying on online course resources, a blended learning approach combining online and offline methods is employed to help students gain more intuitive understanding and application of professional knowledge. Running ideological and political work through the whole process of education and teaching, the research endeavors to impart professional theoretical knowledge while providing students with spiritual guidance at the level of ideals and beliefs and help students to build correct world view, outlook on life and values, thus realizing the same direction of ideological and political construction and professional teaching.

Abstract:In recent years, it has become the consensus of universities to integrate ideological and political education into professional courses. Teachers should strengthen the cultivation of students’ ideological and moral character while imparting professional knowledge. As a traditional overseas Chinese school, Huaqiao University should pay more attention to the ideological and political work of overseas students in professional classroom teaching, not only to help students better adapt to professional study and independent life, but also to help them correctly understand China’s cultural background and development status. Taking the course of basic principles of steel structure as an example, the course orientation, classroom teaching, and graduation requirements are analyzed from multiple dimensions, and the goal of ideological and political education is clarified. The course of basic principles of steel structure is closely related to engineering practice. In the ideological and political design of the course, we should pay attention to collecting cases of steel structure-related engineering projects, industry leaders, and Chinese traditional culture, from which we can excavate teaching elements with ideological and political connotations and deeply integrate teaching design with ideological and political education. In addition, from the three links of pre-class preview guidance, in-class theory teaching, and after-class practice teaching, this paper explores the path of integrating ideological and political education into professional basic courses teaching, implements the ideological and political objectives of courses, and enhances students’ cultural identity and national pride.

Abstract:The proposal and integration of the concepts of emerging engineering education and curriculum ideological and political education have put forward new challenges and reformations to talent cultivation of colleges and universities. How to carry out curriculum ideological and political teaching reform under the background of emerging engineering education and cultivate talents with excellent ideological and political literacy is a vital task for colleges and universities. Taking the geotechnical investigation courses in China University of Geosciences as the study object, the curriculum ideological and political education goal is designed and four dimensions of ideological elements are explored combining with the disciplines characteristics and students’ cognitive requirements. A full-stage closed loop routing of curriculum ideological and political education is built, enriching the teaching content and material resources, and innovating the teaching methods and means. The teaching practices have expanded the depth, breadth and temperature of the course, realized the educational goal of combination of professional learning with value guidance, and formed a new exploration of ideological and political teaching mode of engineering specialized courses.
