Abstract:In recent years, many universities have started implementing large-class enrollment in an effort to reduce the blindness of major selection and strive for excellent students. This entails grouping students in major categories who are majoring in the same or similar subject categories, the same department, or majors from different departments together. However, there are still some issues with large-class enrollment and major diversion that merit further discussion. The paper compares and analyzes the large-class enrollment and major diversion schemes of several typical universities, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of large-class enrollment and the major diversion model. Further, taking the civil engineering major at a certain university as an example, it analyzes the trends in educational environment and student performance before and after major diversion under the large-class enrollment background. The paper suggests that by developing more detailed admission plans, establishing more flexible major selection systems, lowering the difficulty of changing majors after admission, and creating open and transparent selection systems, the existing large-class enrollment and the major diversion schemes can be further optimized.

Abstract:In professional degree postgraduate education, professional practice, as a unique and important cultivation link, is not only a key process distinguishing it from academic postgraduate cultivation, but also an important institutional design for testing the quality of professional degree postgraduate education and the effectiveness of reform. With the help of CiteSpace data analysis and visualization tool, 1110 papers in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) are used as research samples, and bibliometric method is adopted to systematically describe and analyze the number of publications, core authors and partnership network, frontiers, and hot topics in the field of professional practice of professional degree graduate education in the past two decades (2000-2024). The analysis results show that there is a general upward trend in the number of publications on the professional practice of professional degree students. There is little cooperation between core authors and research institutions, and the research hot topics are greatly influenced by national policies and social demands, the core themes are practice bases, cultivation modes, dual tutorship, teaching reform and practice innovation, etc. The research hot topics are gradually shifted to the integration between industry and education and classified training modes. In the future, the reform of professional practice from aspects such as the innovation of differentiated talent cultivation, the integration between industry and education, and the process management and effect evaluation guided by value-added and comprehensive orientations should be further explored to improve the quality of talent cultivation of professional degree graduate students.

Abstract:Based on the intrinsic characteristics of the development of vocational education in China, an evaluation index system is established to measure the development level of majors in vocational colleges. Using relevant data from prefecture-level cities in Guangdong province during the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan period, and relying on the entropy method model, this study investigates the dynamic trends, development index rankings, and variations of the development of majors in vocational colleges. The study also employs K-means clustering and variance decomposition methods to conduct a structural analysis of the spatial patterns and development of the majors. The findings indicate that the development level of majors in vocational colleges in Guangdong province shows an overall improvement from 2016 to 2020. The overall distribution features a high concentration in the central region, revealing an imbalance where the development level of majors in vocational colleges is higher in the Pearl River Delta region and lower in non-Pearl River Delta regions. The developmental differences in the scale elements of major settings constitute the main structural source of overall differences in the development of majors in vocational colleges in Guangdong Province. In light of these findings and against the backdrop of the newly revised Vocational Education Law, targeted implementation strategies are proposed to promote the high-quality development of major settings in vocational colleges in Guangdong province. These strategies include seizing important development opportunities presented by the new Vocational Education Law, enhancing the adaptability of major settings, promoting the aggregation of resources to accelerate the integration of industry and education, encouraging interdisciplinary cross-fertilization, and optimizing the mechanisms ensuring the development of vocational education.

      2025(3):77-84. DOI: 10.11835/j.issn.1005-2909.2025.03.009

      Abstract (16) HTML (5) PDF 569.12 K (17) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The prefabricated building, with good quality, fast construction, reduced labor, and less environmental pollution, has become an important hand in the transformation and upgrading of China's construction industry. Factory prefabrication, mechanized installation and information management are the typical characteristics of prefabricated building, which brings about higher requirements on the technical level of construction workers. Therefore, how to train high-quality industrial construction workers for prefabricated building has become one of the key issues that constrain the benign and healthy development of prefabricated buildings. To grasp the actual state of the prefabricated building construction workers, related survey, in terms of age, gender, education, years of experience and training situation, was conducted on the workers of relevant component production factories and construction companies. The achieved data showed that the prefabricated building construction workers serious issues of aging population, low education level, and lack of systematic training. The growth of the professional construction workers was seriously out of step with the industrial technological development and was not able to support the rapid development of the prefabricated building. Therefore, it has become an urgent task to train construction workers for prefabricated building efficiently. Regarding the current systematic problems of the prefabricated building construction workers, the targeted training path was discussed in depth from three aspects of vocational education, professional education, and vocational training. The training of technical talents in vocational education and skilled talents in professional education can meet the demand for high-quality talents in the industry in the medium and long term; vocational training can improve the skills of the existing workers to solve the short-term shortage of industrial workers and form a system of lifelong growth of individual workers' ability. The multi-level industrial construction worker training system for high-quality talents and the multi-channel worker ability growth system based on vocational training promote the high-quality training of prefabricated industry construction workers in multiple directions and help the sustainable and high-quality development of prefabricated buildings.

Abstract:Modern enterprises are faced with the challenge of complex technical problems in the engineering site conditions, and urgently need a large number of high-level technical personnel. However, some graduates majoring in engineering do not have a strong desire to choose to work in enterprises and take root in the engineering sites. In view of this background, Chongqing University takes the resources and environment majors as an example to explore the value leading education system of engineering graduates that serves the needs of complex engineering talents. Questionnaire surveys are conducted to analyze the reasons why engineering graduates are unwilling to go to work in enterprises. The value leading education system is constructed from ideal belief, knowledge, example guidance, engineering practice and innovation training. An education path that combines local red cultural resources and industry characteristics is put forward. Verified by the practice of the School of Resources and Safety Engineering at Chongqing University, this system has enhanced the degree of alignment between talent cultivation and engineering requirements and achieved good results.

Abstract:In the context of accelerating globalization and the deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative, the educational model for international students in China is shifting from mere knowledge transmission to value-oriented guidance and fostering cultural identity. Addressing these new circumstances and challenges, a systematic curriculum ideological and political education framework for architecture students has been developed, encompassing theoretical, practical, and managerial dimensions. Taking the nine specialized courses for international students at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University, as a case study, this research provides an in-depth analysis of the application of this framework in teaching practice. Through the identification of ideological and political elements within course content, the integration of these elements into course syllabi, and the comprehensive embedding of ideological and political education, the initiative achieves a seamless fusion of professional education and ideological guidance. This approach not only provides an effective pathway for cultivating globally-minded architectural professionals, but also enhances the international competitiveness and influence of Chinese architectural education.

Abstract:Emerging engineering education is both a challenge and an opportunity for traditional civil engineering majors. The perfect integration of emerging engineering education and ideological and political elements in professional course teaching is crucial for development of universities and student cultivation. This article explores the teaching objectives and pain points of the soil mechanics course under the background of emerging engineering education, the requirements and principles of ideological and political education in the course, the design of the ideological and political education system in the course, and the ways to achieve ideological and political education in the course. It shows the current achievements of the teaching reform. China’s Heavenly, Earthly, Maritime, and Polar engineering projects have been incorporated into the teaching, including the Chang’e Project, Tianwen Series, tunnel excavation technology, deep well drilling projects, Crustal Exploration Project, marine oil and gas extraction projects, seabed mining projects, and the construction of the Antarctic Research Station. In teaching, the idea that the study of soil mechanics is closely related to the nation’s high-tech and cutting-edge industries is conveyed to students to enhance their interest in learning and boost their professional confidence. Each chapter of the soil mechanics course is meticulously designed to integrate ideological and political elements, seamlessly incorporating these elements while imparting theoretical knowledge of soil mechanics. It combines the example of the introduction course in Chapter 1 of soil mechanics to explain, aiming to achieve the combination of textbook theory and practice while imparting knowledge, with a focus on cultivating students’ national pride, sense of national responsibility, and the ideal and belief of not fearing difficulties in science and technology for the country.
