Abstract:The proposal of the spirit of educators has profound theoretical connotations. It is the innovative development of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture in the field of education and points to the scientific development of modern education in China. The core of the spirit of educators lies in the realistic people, that is, educators are specific individuals. Educational activities must be based on an in-depth understanding of the subjectivity and objectivity of educators. With the development of the times, it is inevitable to require an era-appropriate spirit of educators to promote and realize educational modernization. The spirit of educators and the modernization of education form an intrinsic logical isomorphism in terms of goal orientation, essential requirements and value orientation, and jointly promote talent training and social development. In the new era, further exploring the intrinsic relationship between the spirit of educators and the modernization of education, and putting forward specific promotion paths, can provide a broader perspective and method for the high-quality development of educational modernization.

Abstract:The spirit of scientists is not only an important part of the spiritual pedigree of the CPC, but also an important part of ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the new era. Integrating the spirit of scientists into ideological and political education in universities is an important measure to implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and nurturing new talents of the times. An analysis of over 80 textual materials on the promotion of the spirit of scientists in 10 double first class universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Fudan University, reveals that these universities have mainly adopted measures such as relying on educational bases, creating scientific dramas, holding special lectures, and integrating into curriculum construction to promote the spirit of scientists, and have achieved initial results. However, these universities still face various challenges in practice, including superficial propaganda work, limited subject coverage, low student participation, and insufficient integration of the spirit of scientists into the curriculum. To effectively address these challenges, universities need to increase resource investment and strengthen publicity, promote interdisciplinary exchanges and cooperation, stimulate students’ enthusiasm for participation, strengthen top-level design and teacher training, and optimize paths to achieve a deep integration of the spirit of scientists and ideological and political education in universities.

    • Exploration on the teaching reform of the master planning course oriented to territorial spatial planning

      2025, 34(6):87-94. DOI: 10.11835/j.issn.1005-2909.2025.06.012

      Abstract (19) HTML (15) PDF 808.91 K (18) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The master planning course, a core course of the urban and rural planning major, is facing pressures derived from the professional transition to national territorial planning. Properly understanding the transition and formulating appropriate curriculum reform strategies are key challenges for organizing the course. With a diachronic narrative method, a review of the content of master planning and the development of the curriculum reveals that while adhering to the core of spatial resource allocation, the course evolves with national advance in society, economy and urban-rural construction industry. This evolution shows a trend of incorporating new disciplines, focusing on solving new issues, and establishing new paradigms. Hence, the ongoing teaching reform needs to deeply acknowledge that the new-round transition has historical commonality and logical consistency with previous multiple transitions. It is essential to make the curriculum content adapt to current reality and guide the future. Namely, the course reform should adhere to the traditional content of master planning, implement the value orientation of ecological civilization and bottom-line constraints, place priorities on natural resources and land preservation, and make the final teaching outcomes and planning solutions transferable to feasible actions. In addition, it is necessary to appropriately understand the impacts on course contents, knowledge, and technique accumulation derived from the professional transition. Response strategies include adjusting the curriculum program to fully adapt to the professional transformation, strengthening the training on key technologies and lowering the requirements of secondary content. With the above knowledge, the master planning course at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) has established the principles of supporting development and being oriented towards implementation in terms of curriculum tasks, explored methods for selecting comprehensive elements and small and medium-sized bases, and summarized teaching organization approaches such as open processes and closed-loop competency development.

Abstract:In recent years, the transformation from urban and rural planning to territorial spatial planning has put forward reform requirements for planning curriculum in universities. Among all the courses, data analysis is an instrumental course that supports various research on territorial spatial planning. Its current teaching mode can no longer meet the knowledge needs. By sorting out the course’s main problems, this article proposes that the teaching of the course should be transferred from imparting sparse knowledge to imparting students’ knowledge building modules, guiding them to build the knowledge framework using these modules, and then promote the transformation from teaching-based education to construction-based teaching. Based on this, teaching reform can be carried out at the level of teaching content, such as systemic construction, theoretical expansion, and dynamic connection. In practice, adopting a variety of specific measures is required, such as combining multiple teaching modes, using information technology, and improvement of students’ participation, so as to meet the new requirements of urban and rural planning teaching during the transition period.

Abstract:With China’s economy and society entering a new normal and the gradual implementation of the requirements for ideological and political education in curriculum construction, the teaching reform of professional theory courses is imperative. In order to improve the teaching quality of professional theory courses, the research takes the knowledge transfer theory as the guide, the course of urban planning principles as the case, and explicit knowledge transfer as the carrier, combines tacit knowledge transfer with curriculum-based ideological and political education, and improves the performance of tacit knowledge transfer. Suggestions are put forward focusing on the optimization of teaching content and the improvement of teaching methods. In terms of teaching content, it is necessary to sort out the relationship with other courses, and introduce relevant knowledge of territorial spatial planning into the course. At the same time, attention should be paid to the education of historical materialism and dialectical materialism worldview, so that students can understand the implicit knowledge such as thinking methods contained behind explicit knowledge, establish values of fairness, justice, and safeguarding public interests, strengthen professional literacy education, and adhere to ideals and bottom lines. In terms of teaching methods, case teaching can be used to strengthen the clear expression of explicit knowledge and effectively transfer implicit knowledge such as experience, skills, concepts, and values; increase the interest of classroom content and highlight the importance of knowledge points, and improve students’ learning initiative through daily assessment and class discussion; strengthen interaction and communication between teachers and students to improve knowledge transfer performance. In addition, by tracking teaching effectiveness and combining course characteristics to improve classroom teaching forms, knowledge transfer performance can also be improved.

Abstract:Beaux-Arts composition is based on the logic of mathematics and geometry to achieve the causal transformation of space and form, and the creation and expression of cubist visual art has influenced the spatial cognition of modern architecture that started from the plane. The education reform of the Texas Rangers balanced between Beaux-Arts education and Bauhaus education, pointing to the "spatial education" of "modern architecture can be taught", and then turn to the spatial exercise of architectural autonomy. From the Texas Rangers education to the Cooper Union education, as an architecture design basic course, the Nine Square Problem has become a composition paradigm of modern architecture, a powerful tool for modern architectural spatial teaching, a formal language and a kind of architectural thought, and its spatial thought and spatial exercise have been focused on autonomous generation of architectural space to make architecture a language that needs to be learned, through abstract forms and spatial reasoning of the relationship between parts and the whole. This article starts from the question of the Nine Square Problem, it presents modern architecture teaching centered on space by sorting out the spatial ideas and training of the Nine Square Problem. Through the study of the Nine Square Problem, it explores the logic of architectural space, freely studies the relationship between space and structure, and promotes the progress of architectural spatial teaching.

Abstract:In order to forge a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation and effectively integrate ethnic exchanges, interactions, and integrations into the entire process of undergraduate education, taking the architectural history teaching module of the architecture major as the entry point, by adhering to the orientation of the Chinese nation community, examining the current education situation, and combining the characteristics of the curriculum, three major reform strategies are proposed: a new interpretation of the content through integrating the history of ethnic exchanges, interactions, and integrations with architectural history courses, an innovative design training with local historical propositions, and a sustainable response based on regional green learning. The research holds that the module teaching reform of architectural history should focus on the practical application of contextual knowledge and the cultivation of cross-disciplinary abilities, so as to cultivate innovative and skilled talents with an understanding of traditional culture and a sense of social responsibility.

Abstract:In the new era, higher requirements are put forward for the cultivation of engineering talents in universities. Integrating ideological and political education into professional course teaching is an important measure to fulfill the mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the state, implement the Party’s education policy and the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents. This article analyzes the ideological characteristics of engineering postgraduates through interviews and surveys. Based on the course of introduction to engineering vocational qualification, this study explores effective ways to integrate professional education with ideological and political education, and explores practical methods for the new path of higher education in the new era from the perspective of ideological and political theories teaching in all courses (IPTTIAC). Practice has proved that the professional recognition of postgraduates has been greatly increased by combining professional teaching and ideological and political education. At the same time, it has stimulated postgraduates’ native land emotions, answered students’ questions, strengthened their belief, and pointed out the further direction for them. This article provides ideas and methods for exploring the IPTTIAC construction of postgraduate courses in engineering colleges and universities.

Abstract:Difficulties in the construction of curriculum-based ideological and political education in colleges and universities lie in the integration of ideological and political elements, enthusiasm of students, and assessment of teaching efficiency. Taking urban landscape design course as an example, under the perspective of Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, the teaching design embeds design modules of ideological and political themes in the process of specialized courses. Steps such as collection and arrangement of background data , presentation of research results, disassembling and reorganizing of design elements, project design, and design drawing, correspond to the six cognitive education objectives of memory, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation and creation, and the four affective education objectives of notice, reaction, evaluation and organization. In this way, teaching design of curriculum-based ideological and political education is carried out and assessed step by step, hierarchical assessments of ideological and political learning are conducted. The teaching goal of curriculum-based ideological and political education featuring hierarchical progression and student-centered learning can be achieved. It promotes students’ independent and proactive learning of ideological and political content, ultimately realizing the mutual promotion of professional education and ideological and political education.
