Journal of Civil & Environmental Engineering (Chinese and English Version), a professional academic journal (bimonthly) supervised by the Ministry of Education and run by Chongqing University, was initiated in 1957 with the original name Journal of Chongqing Architectural Engineering Institute, which was renamed Journal of Chongqing Jianzhu University in1995. In 2009, the journal was given another name Civil Construction & Environmental Engineering, which was then renamed Journal of Civil & Environmental Engineering (Chinese and English Version) in 2019.

The journal is committed to publishing the latest research achievements in civil engineering, environmental science and engineering both at home and abroad, in an effort to facilitate academic communications, foster professional elites and fuel the development of relevant disciplines. The editorial board is joined by 87 prestigious Chinese and foreign scholars on civil engineering, environmental science and engineering, of whom there are 5 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering. With an international vision, the journal highly values professionalism and preciseness. As far as various academic indicators are concerned, it ranks among the best of all civil engineering journals in China.

So far Journal of Civil & Environmental Engineering (Chinese and English Version) has been included by CSCD and GCJC. Currently it serves as a source journal of Elsevier Scopus database, Germany international architectural database, Chinese literature database of Japan Science and Technology Agency. Besides, it is rated as the key magazine of China technology and ranks among the Class A journal of Chongqing. It was voted China’s Top 100 Journal 2015 by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the PRC. In addition, it has won, many times, the award of China’s Top 100 University Scientific and Technological Journal, China’s High Quality Scientific and Technological Journal, Chinese University Excellent Scientific and Technological Journal, China’s Online Excellent Journal for Scientific Papers, Chinese University Scientific and Technological Journal with Remarkable Editing Quality, and Outstanding Journal of Chongqing. Since 2013 it has won repeated support from Chongqing Special Publishing Fund.
